    Hello all.
Anyone have any info or guidance on removing a door lock cylinder for a 49 Dodge Wayfarer?
    I appreciate the assistance fellas.

I believe someone may have replaced ignition cylinder but not door locks. Ignition key fits door but will not operate door lock. If I insert the key and lift internal door handle the outer handle locks but key still does not turn.

I was thinking I would remove both door lock cylinders and take them to have them keyed. If not a replacement may be needed?

I mistakenly removed the brass clip and the cover for the tumblers came off. I believe I replaced it correctly and all springs and pins remained in place.

The outer lock face is solid as a rock. I am thinking the clip that sits in the track needs to be manipulated somehow to release the cylinder but can’t seem to figure it out.

I understand this may be a newb question showing my ignorance. Be gentle haha.
I included pic of the cylinder from inside the door.
    Thanks all.

The lock cylinder is retained with a two part clip. One part is welded to the door panel. Movable part slides back and forth. Slide it back and lock cylinder will come out from the outside of the door.

Once out, there is a tin cover over the pins. That can be removed carefully and pins placed to accept your key. May need a locksmith who has an assortment of replacement pins.

That makes sense and kind of what I figured actually. Just need to play with it more to get it to move. I am sure once I figure it out I will feel silly for not understanding it sooner.
Thank you for the help Sir!
