I have a 1932 ford with fuel tank in the trunk and an electric fuel pump under the frame rail up front. After driving the car for 5 minutes or so it stops pumping fuel. To get the engine running again, I pull the fuel line off at the fuel pump and it blows out air and will fire back up. Thoughts?
Electric fuel pumps are pushers, not pullers as in your case. Move pump as close to the tank as possible.
Another thing too as I have ran into this exact same problem twice, both times it was a plugged filter in the gas tank. An external filter that's plugged will do the same thing... ....
I moved the pump back by the gas tank and it did it again today. 3 minutes of run time and the fuel stops pumping until I purge it.
Is your gas cap vented ? Edit, I re-read you said it’s in trunk , any type of external vent system ( I had a 34 with a non vented cap, would cut out like running out of gas , took cap off , drove it and was fine. So I changed to vented cap
