It was Norm’s car. At least it didn’t have all the nonsense on it yet.

  6. No matter who the caretaker is, it will always be Norms car to me. Sure glad to see it brought back to its Glory Days.

    Doug,
I agree on the carb scoop. Actually, the whole thing including the graphics isn't traditional. I just thought it was very clever.

Yeah, not terribly traditional but the round tube chassis appears to be of real high quality, as does the engine and related hardware.
I've just had an aversion to those particular air scoops since they first came on the scene.

  21. Overall very appealing. Top looks kinda silly way up in the air like that.

Other than the stock, tall windshield and the really tall top, I really like this car with the full hood. IF I ever build another T roadster I'm certain I want a full hood on it. What a clean look. I would also try to hide the exhaust as much as practical just to help keep the look clean.

At first I thought it was a VW rod, but it might have a 4 banger up front.

VW rod was my first thought too, but then saw the exhaust and thought, no, maybe a 4 banger of some sort.

That would be my plan for the "what if" T I have in mind. In fact, I built a 153 Chevy II/Mercruiser engine just for that purpose and now it's stored and covered under my workbench. I distracted myself by accumulating 3 (yeah 3) Mk II Austin Healey Sprites. Always had a soft spot for the little British sports cars ever since I had an MG Midget about 50 years ago. Man, time flies.

that brown t is mine. yes its a vw motor. the exhaust ran forward. i didn't have it like that very long because it would screech when you got on it. i built it in 1976. i had been building vw trikes for awhile and wanted a street rod. since i had a lot of vw parts still, i built this. i sold it in 1981. funny story. a guy called me up a few years ago and said he had it and we did some trading and i got it back. i have been refurbishing it a little at a time. it is fun to drive, like a big go kart. it is very light and is spooky on the fwy when a semi goes by. it only weighed 1200 pounds. there are a few threads on vw based t's on the hamb.
