Hot Rods picked me up a 50 Ocho today..

  1. I'm sure someone near would do a similar trade. While I get why you need an auto who wouldn't want a four speed?

    here we go , i'm off and running, this project got the axe....but....couldn't sell it...one of my favorites cars is a 58 delray... and this one has way too much going on in my direction to kick to the curb... so I put it on the front burner again....I'm a gotta do it myself guy...but...my son's will help me and so were gonna finish it.. and cause it's how I want it done.... we welded up all the holes...the way I do the holes is with nails... looks mad max now LOL

    there's not a spec of bondo in this car anywhere.. and will get done that way...

    got the patina paint pretty much done,... so I thought.... I gonna drive this bad boy.... this bitch hooks up.... I'm gonna guess it's a 4;11 posi..might even got atire up in front...pull the shifter to second... holy pain shot batman...so no shift to 3rd... but damn she launches hard...wish I could have got 3rd... but I kicked it to neutral and coasted the rest of the way down the street... had to leave it at my buddys house... but fuc it.... it was worth the pain...

    I agree with you. I am not a fan of Rallye wheels on 50's cars.

    still got order a bunch of parts, rear window clips and rubber... new head light bucket adjuster and such

    I un clipped the sling, used my left to sit my hand on the shifter... then pulled with my body to go to second... it was all over after that...hope it didn't pull something loose.... they just hooked my bicept back on.... hope I didn't tear it loose again..

    getting close to done with the metal finish, small amout of lead work was needed...should have primer today, and satin paint next week..

    the spot was under the fender mirror,.. and small spots on the hood and cowl..

    got this to drive while my surgery heals.....great cars and coffee rig..the 58 will be a while getting done..

    well, no one said anything about using nails to weld up holes for trim,... so heres why I do it... makes the other side more finish, no weld wire wiskers... that and when you strike the arc it doesn't blow out the metal so you can puddle to the thin sheet metal...that and there way less heat so it doesn't warp the hell out of long quarters and doors...the nails get hottest
