    Hello,

Our dad was one heck of a sportsman while growing up in So Cal. His tales of high school sports and semi professional baseball during and after college allowed me to see him in another light. In other places than just “ our dad” in his Buick sedans going to and coming home from work. From the time we first moved to Long Beach in 1946 to the time my own life moved to the coastal So Cal beach areas, it was a great point to get involved in hot rods, desert racing motorcycles and surfing. He was proud of his sons getting involved in different things, together as brothers and not harsh enemies as teenagers…ha!

But, for us being in the back of the long line of Buick sedans, we always wondered why our dad never got a station wagon. They had tons of back seat room for separate places for two rowdy young brothers. Then as we continued to go to the beach consistently, room for more stuff in the back area. There was even room to make a platform for a blow up air mattress for overnight sleeping. Of course, my mom and dad would be on the mattress while the two brothers would be sharing a tent outside on our camping trips.

So, instead of a 4 door Buick sedan like he bought in 1953 and the two door Roadmaster he bought in the fall of 1956, how about a custom Buick two door station wagon with all of the styling cues to make it worthwhile owning a huge Buick?

Since our dad liked the color blue, here it is, in a custom blue for the 57 year. And, no custom can go forth without a slight rake for a cool lowered stance... YRMV

So it seems that now that I have retired completely from my regular job (print production artist/illustrator) from the ag magazine company, there is a call to do the kind of art that got me into the field. T-shirt and poster art.
There is the first piece I did for an acquaintance as a graphic to put on the side of his trailer that carries his 46 Ford named after his mom. Messenger_creation_7134CA71-89B4-47A5-9711-768BAAE0397D.jpeg

My granddaughters hung out with me on spring break last week. So while I was busy in the shop they were busy with artwork. IMG_5352.jpeg IMG_5353.jpeg IMG_5354.jpeg IMG_5330.jpeg

It's been quite a while since I posted. Sometimes life's road hands you unexpected curves, and you might have to change your directions (and priorities) drastically. If you are fortunate enough, you might be able to go back to your favorite destinations again;). It's good to see familiar faces still doing well, along with some new faces too. Have a great weekend everybody! Cheers! Rob

  24. Well, it's been a while.
My last computer crashed and died. Managed to save most of my files. A new laptop and software was acquired to continue making my artwork.

    A new sign...
