  2. No real news on this one but the ‘40 ford thread got me thinking about it again. 711444D9-B0CA-4EDE-AA02-247F05A1445C.jpeg

Well I am late to the party , but cool find. I maybe a wee bit jealous lol. Dad i went to Latimore quite a few times and he was a member. So I have plenty of t shirts.:D Dad raced dirt modifieds and late models from '62 to '74 at Humberstone Speedway, Merrittville Speedway in Ontario Canada and Ramsomeville N.Y. Ran a bit of asphalt atx Speedway Park in Ontario as well. He had a '37 Chevy coupe that I want to replicate sooner than later.

58C0B912-5344-4517-8EA6-9B4DF7D5A78B.jpeg Been along time since I saw your thread. Last two years my wife and I built our retirement home in New Meadows, Idaho. Love it here. Anyway we have finally been unpacking all our stuff. Found a model I built 50@ years ago, maybe more, cannot remember when. I grew up in Hyde Park and the whole family was at the track to watch the flatheads run. Tilden Forrier started his business in our old garage on Bernhart Ave. Later he ran the J2 with Whitey Kershner at the wheel. Bobby Abel was my favorite, sometimes it seemed to me that he waited to long to make his charge. Anyway I also found a 1961 RSCA yearbook. Love all the nostalgia, I also got many autographs with only that little horse racing fence in the early days!

Very cool, sure miss those old days. Got out of the Air Force in 1972. Grew up with Curt Weller, helped him finish his modified way back when! IMG_0990.JPG 16836490_10212082237802164_6839115014775961856_o (1).jpg

  7. Good stuff @Splitbudaba and @Al Consoli! It’s funny I was just looking at the old girl in the barn this weekend as I was working on my tractor to get it going for the season. I’ve got to get back on her soon. There just aren’t enough hours in the day for all the projects I have! Don’t give up on me guys/gals. She will ride again!

  8. I am thinking Rochester 2BBl very common in oval track, the same bolt pattern as the 49-50 merc intake I believe.

Very common in modern street stock pure stock. Modified to 500 CFM Holley jets, worked power valves

Cliff Kotary (The copper city cowboy) used two on his flathead that won New York State Fair (One Mile Dirt oval) race 6 consecutive times 1960-1966 in his 33 Ford.

My modified Rochester 2BBl modified by JET performance for oval track racing. For my vintage oval track racing 261 Chevy. We are only allowed one carb.

  16. A couple of years ago an off topic car became available that I’d been lusting after for about 28 years since the first time I saw it. I needed funds quickly and @Dwight schneider had reached out to me about 6 months earlier asking if I knew of any model 40 dirt cars for sale. I took a chance and hit him up to see if he was interested in this one and we struck a deal. I’ve been getting updates here and there as he and his son have been bringing it back to life!

I was going to ask them if I could update this thread and they beat me to it haha!

The car won 31 races at Reading that year . My body was the Chamberlain but my chassis was changed later . Will Cagle drove my car as the #24 . View attachment 6366320
