It has been reported on "The Ford Barn" that "Ol' Ron" Holleran has passed. Ron was one of the most experienced guys in the flathead business and had been around forever. He is the author of the book "Nostalgia : Rebuilding and modifying the flathead Ford V8". As @Ryan posted on the "Barn", "Ron’s been a fixture around here, a permanent ghost in the machine. One of those rare souls who becomes part of the scenery without ever fading into it. And as far as I’m concerned, he’ll always be here—lurking in the margins, in the threads, in the grease-stained fingerprints we leave behind." Ron was respected and loved by everyone. He will be missed.
Condolences to the Holleran Family and friends in the passing of Ron...to those running these vintage huffers his sharing of knowledge about them will keep one smiling and ears fulfilled with that sound like no other that once heard is never forgotten...
Ron was a walking, talking encyclopedia when it came to flatheads, there was never a time he didn't have an answer to any questions I had, his knowledge will be missed but as long as the Ford Barn is around his hundreds of threads will help the young and the older guys with his years of experience. Rest in peace Ron, HRP
Sad to hear of this. He was a fixture on Ford Barn. Rest in peace, Ron. One day I’ll make your chile recipe.
Seeing Ron Pass is sad. condolences to those who grieve. My favorite thoughts of Ron are when he would ask himself if a thing could be possible. He would go ahead into his shop and try to tackle an answer. Then let us all know what he had found. His name on these boards is dear to us all. May he rest in peace.
Wow, we have lost another of the great ones... very knowledgeable and innovative. I paid a lot of attention to his posts when I was planning on a flathead build. RIP Ron!
