Designed as America was coming out of the depression.
Later models were toned down to what could be produced with materials available due to rationing.
The US had it better than most of the world, but it still had to build with limited resources for a large demand.

Auto production halted shortly after Pearl Harbor and didn't resume until the 46 models. All efforts were for the war not civilian

Yes. Nothing I said counters that.
1942 civilian cars were designed in the late 30s.
Production cycles were usually Sept or so for the next year, so Sept. 1941.
War production was going at this point, but was not universal.
Pearl Harbor was Dec 7th 1941. Jan 1942 civilian production was halted, although some cars were built for the govt. before production of most consumer goods was moved to war time efforts.
After the war ended in 1946, manufacturing had to move back to car production and materials needed were rationed.

The '56 Clipper on the previous page should have the super desirable tail lights in it, although the pictures perfectly cropped out the tail lights in every shot, making me wonder if they're there. That'd be worth it for parts if those are there.

Also previous page, a '51 DeSoto with '51 Mercury grille in it, instead of vice-versa. Have heard that commented about but never actually saw someone do it.

  7. There are no rules against posting your own ads. I thought about posting that ad. I also did a search and confirmed for myself that there are two-door Kaisers in that body style.

I had those on my 67 mustang fastback when I was a kid. If that’s what these are they’ve lost a little of their luster over the years.

It does look rough but surely there’s $800 worth of parts on it.

Yeah, and all SBC's are 327's that came out of Corvettes.... ;)

Those truck exhaust manifolds would lead me to assume it is much more likely to be a 360, but measuring bore and stroke would be the only way to truly find out. However, that intake looks interesting.

Always amazes me how lazy people can be. Take 30 minutes, pull that thing out into the sun and pressure wash it off before snapping some pics and the asking price would double.

Could be a pretty neat hot rod hiding under all the chicken shit.

I say Fenton R/T, the fake Super Trick. Super Tricks get thicker towards the center, the R/T tapers thinner toward the center.

My uncle had a set of the Street Super Trick wheels on his Camaro, which were chromed steel and VERY heavy. I remember someone else in town had a set of the gold anodized aluminum Super Trick wheels back then on their Camaro, which were much lighter, but I don't think those were meant for street use.

EDIT: NOTE that there is a video of it running, but not starting and there's no coolant (upper hose missing). I'd expect start and run, hold coolant and clutch and trans operational for that price. I'd want brakes too, but those are not basic repair.
