That is the car and the man that got me interested in Rodding, about 28 years ago. hopefully he will start posting on here, now that he has met some of you. I dont know who took this Pic, but its a pretty good one. Did any body get a pic of it at speed?
sean, i don't know about kickin' butt, but i saw it run twice and tommy won both times. this was against another henry j. i wish i knew who owns the other one. they were both pretty neat cars.
You bet it ran good! It looked, sounded, and ran as well (or better) as anything there. I ran into Tommy Friday afternoon at the Holiday Inn - while heading back from cooling off in the pool. Even though I was dripping wet, we struck up a conversation in the hallway and ended up shooting the shit there for about 20 minutes. Turns out he and I both just celebrated our 59th birthdays this month. I didn't get much of a chance to talk with him at the track, but did make sure to get a few photos of his car - and watch him make a few passes. VERY cool racecar!!
I believe it was running in the 13's. He said he ran 8's with it on 10/10/65 with a different engine/tranny combo.
other j was me. yes he kicked butt. it didnt even hurt.i will get over it sooner or later.the last time i had this much fun was when i met tommy.all i can say about the hamb drags is WOW. thanks for letting be there.WOW lets do it again.the only regret is i didnt meet all that were there.
Jerry, aka Joplin. Glad to see you on here. Thanks for all the firewood!!!! You HenryJ guys made my day.
I didn't get a chance to talk to the yello Henry J guy but I did b.s. with ol' Joplin for awhile. I thought he was gonna buy my Rambler for a little while but changed his mind..
hey, sean, order the tape from fat cat (http://www.jalopyjournal.com/ubbthr...ts&Main=142463&Search=true#Post142630). there's a couple of henry j runs on it. it's better than a pic.
Anyone have the photos of this mysterious yellow Henry J ??? I can only think of one yeller Henry J that was racing back then and still racing I believe.
