History HATED IT, NOW LIKE IT??? 59 F100 STORY..

GUESS i'VE LIVED TOO LONG.. I remember saying, I won't ever live long enough to like a 59 f100... two many lights, funky cab, ford quit making trucks in 1956....might as well add the hog nose, the 40 sedan, 4 door tri five...but damn, I've see some cool hog nose.... and can't remember why I didn't like them...same with chevy's they quit making trucks after 72... any way.... here's my 59...302 auto...nice patina.... LMFAO....

I regretted passing on a 1960 M100 Mercury short bed, had the wrap around back glass to. It was sold on a bill of sale, which doesn’t work for me.

 

Hated the "hognose" on my old '39 so much that I modified the front sheet metal and adapted a '36 pickup grille.

so with my next question, whats the best way to lower this truck... I kinda remember years ago, volary front torsion bar????.... too much work ... rear flip... rear hits the bed... front flip... bump steer and hits oil pan???? it has all the little leafs removed.... so 5 or 6 stack...probley was 9???? tucked tires would be great....

Back on topic, did I ever hate then love? Yes, looking at it rt now. 1939 Ford Standard. For literally decades I felt the 38dlx/39std were the ugliest 30s Ford ever put to pencil. A well done 39std winked at me 1 day with its stance, dark color, I was coming up from the back thinking deluxe. Standard, and had never "seen it" like that so close and personal. What's not to like?

57 has been my favorite since they first came out and I was a seven year old.

seems like back in the middle 80's we did a few of those at the shop, and seems like some had torsion bars the went to the rear by the trans and you had to get the on that had cross torsion....???
