This place has gone pretty silent. Who's still here? Post a current pic or tell us what you're up to. This is a "Social" group after all! I still have my '51 Ford COE....drive it fairly often, mostly year round. Except when the roads are salty. Plan on driving it to a swap meet about 4 hrs away next weekend. This is an older pic, but it still looks the same
I'm here also. I took a break from the Autocar just before Thanksgiving due to weather. Around the middle of December, my older brother fell ill and died on February 1st. Because he had no family, I became his nursemaid, then executor of his estate. Presently, I am deep into cleaning sorting and disposing of his belongings. Hopefully I'll be back on the Autocar project by mid summer. Badmoonreizen, I had that same problem with a C6. I never solved it, but I think it is a seal on the torque converter that allows the TC to empty into the pan, overfilling it. Next the seal around the fill tube leaks the fluid out onto the ground.
Seems life has a way of throwing curve balls at us, cutting into our fun time. Steve, sorry for your loss...
I still check to see if anyone is posting once a week. I had the same thing Steve had, but with my sister in law. The wife and I were in Cali for 20 day getting her stable and ready to move her to Ohio with us. Then did some maintenance on the Bronco and now just yesterday got back on the 40 by getting seats off of marketplace.
I still check in here every now & then , had the truck out last weekend for a show about a 3 hour driveaway in England, my mates car broke down so we just stuck it on the back and went anyway 490082711_3968315023405990_6086603152400162004_n by Gary Man posted Apr 26, 2025 at 8:39 PM 490785863_3968314986739327_5236811171396944328_n by Gary Man posted Apr 26, 2025 at 8:39 PM
I'm still around. Just misplaced my p***word. My COE is doing double duty hauling drywall. I hope to post new pics soon
Still here. Talked to an upholstery guy over the weekend about a few small items on the COE. I'd like shift boots, something to cover the brackets that hold the coke bottles on the steering wheel and the steering wheel to go from black to grey. He thought he could do that mid may. I've also entertained the thought of trying my hand at some upholstery work on our ****py pontoon boat seats. Really, if I F them up, it won't be a loss. Have you seen our "pontoon boat"?? LOL... Not sure what I might have to spend to obtain the needed tools... My wife says "When are you going to extend the running boards?". I say "some day..... Still need another set of running board brackets.... I had thoughts of selling the truck until I drove it again for the first time this spring. Mostly been working on the Freak Show... Got the lexan rear gl*** in, small rear windows, metal work on the doors... and put 2000 miles on it since late last fall. Did I mention the failed LS1 harmonic balancer? Here are a few pics.....
I’m still here. Don’t check in as much as I used to. Life definitely kicked my *** hard 8 years ago. Youngest daughter lives in a care home and I have to constantly advocate for her care. Raising her son who is now 12 also takes up a ton of time and emotional energy. I just need a good kick in the *** and a big box of ambition to get focused on the COE again.
I still lurk, priorities have changed for me a little, still hanging onto the trucks, but haven't done anything to them for quite awhile. I got the seats redone for the Diamond T, got a new carb on it, but TBH I am kinda feeling over the original engine in it, so I have been contemplating a different drivetrain. No changes yet, just thinking about it. I am getting to go to Bonneville this year with the wife and daughter for a couple days. Have wanted to since I was a kid.
