Hi, I am aware of the Edmunds intake and heads for the Ford / Lincoln Big block 337 Flathead, as a matter of fact I have a set. But I recently became aware of the Edelbrock heads for that motor. I had not heard of them until very recently, and I just snagged a set. So I'm wondering what other intakes were available besides the Edmunds? I'd like to start searching for one that can go along with these Edelbrock heads. Thanks, Joel
That's cool stuff that Ken Austin and H&H make! But for my collection, I'm only interested in vintage stuff. Did anyone besides Edmunds make an intake for the 337?
About 35 years ago, I sold a pair of Edelbrock heads & a dual intake to a fella in No. Carolina for his dad's '51 F8 dump. The intake was cast "F7", designed for trucks, and I'll be damned if I can remember who made it. Most definitely not an Eddie or Ellis. I keep thinking Nicson, but not sure …
There are dual 2bbl intakes that were factory. I believe these were for the Big Job F-7 F-8 road tractors and maybe special order on Lincoln’s. Factory performance intake do exist for these.
Learn something every day. When those trucks were still working, it became rare to find one with the flathead. They were a short lived engine when in hard daily service. When the flatmotor inevitably died, I've seen them replaced with the later big Y-block, with MELs, and later with FEs. jack vines
