Yes I too wondered about the frame? I didn't know if '36 frames weren't top hat shaped, but sure doesn't look like my frame or most later 30's Chevy top hat frames.

    Hi,

Not going for a "gutted race car" more of Little lift in the front big rear tires, something a kid would put together back in the early 60's. Most like going to try and keep the interior as the front seat is still the original mohair with no tears.

Don't have a big budget so will most likely paint it myself. Bodywork is not my strong suit so doing minimal, rust and structural integrity is what I will concentrate on.

    Regards,
    Jim

  4. Yours is for sure a Standard couple like mine is. Quick & easy way to tell is the Standards have 2 dash guages and the Master Deluxe has 3.

    Hi all,

Not much done ti the car, scored a few complete 9.3's 2 58 Pontiac's and 2 Olds 1 64 not sure on the other but both shouldbe 31 splines.

The 2 57 axles I have were missing the brake drums and hardware..

Hoping I can cut down the 31 splines to use in the 57, only question is brake shoe width as thought 57 and 58 Pontiac used 1.75 wide Olds shows 2 inch so guessing that is what I'll use along with the bigger bell drums, never realized Pontiac used a smaller drum.

Other funny thing the 2 Pontiac center section have 57 casting numbers but have 3 ribs. Casting dates say 58, maybe later builds as thought 59 was first year for the 3 rib.

Also got a few new ratios to choose from, 2 3.23, 1 3.42 and 1 2.69. Most likely use the 3.90 I got.

Think I am good on axles now lol
