I am about to order the Offenhauser 2 carb intake and a set of the Fenton cast iron headers for my 216. Any issuses that I need to know about running these items together? Like fitment or some other problems?

    Thanks

Flange thicknesses are different. If I remember right the Fenton's are thicker than the Offy. If you have access to a milling machine that's a perfect solution but most guys just grind the high side of each of the manifold mounting brackets so that a step is formed to compensate for the uneveness of the flanges. Been done by alot of people and will work fine with patience.

You may have to grind a relief on the underside of the intake to clear the top of the rear header--no big deal.

If I remember correctly, I think the 216 had smaller ports than the 235-261, I beleive we used to blend the intake manifold ports to the head and some times swapped the head for a 235 head.

Just callled a friend of mine and he told me he thought we just used the intake manifold with a 235 gasket set as is and some times swapped the head out for a 235, ran just fine,

    It would have to be a '41-'49 235 head from a truck--the car 235s had a different bolt pattern than a 216.

You will have to take some of the fentons or the intake to make them fit.I think I have some photos in my photobucket site .
And I welded up the clamps so they bolted down seems to work ok .
