Ironically the spoke count is the same between the 16"vs 18" however not sure if the hub cap coincides with the clip spacing........on a separate note regarding regular commercial hub caps, I believe most were relatively flat with an oversized Ford script.

  3. Tires to rims tomorrow!
Can’t wait to mock this up again and see how it all looks with these beautiful Rocky Mountain Hubs! They remind me of the inner workings of a watch.
Time will tell what they look like!

The wheels are beautiful and I think they will be killer with the Rocky Mountain brakes. But, for some reason I envisioned them in the "champagne-pewter-olive-sorta colour". (Post 314)
Now I know why, you said it :D

I think the contrast with black tires would be even more striking!

Since no one else posted about the chrome or nickel plated Deuce grille shell. I vote YES!

Needs to retain the original radiator cap and flare as pictured.

  5. Thinking the hub will go that colour! Or the inside of the backing plates.

  6. Rears fitted! These are huge! Hope to keep proportions good. But they look awesome mounted on the 700/18s
Next up: build rear axle and make it a roller again!!!

  7. Thanks @GearheadsQCE the package arrived today! Time to get that rear end together

I was getting a bit worried. Glad you got it!:D

As good as they look in black, I still think they would look better in the lighter colour.

  9. So this has been assembled and rolling before. So it’s no major milestone getting back up on wheels BUT- since disassembly I dropped the 32 heavy axle, swapped out the original center section for a quick change, modified the crossmember and changed to a model T rear spring.
    Some assembly required.
So back to get it rolling again. With different wheels and tires, hubs and drums. At this stage I’ll do brake lines and everything so I just finalize all pieces before painting and fitting for the last time.
I’m concerned about the rear T spring being too low. But that will all be looked at once we have the majority of car together to get a final weight.
A few hours today. - Fitted the 5.50 Firestones to the V860 front rims. Decided 5.50 over the 4.50/4.75 as the rears are so large.

It all looks so pretty, classic stuff. Except for the front tires. I personally can’t like a tire larger than a 5.00 on the front of a hot rod, especially a highboy.
