I loaned my tandem axle trailer to a co-worker. He backed it on to my property right where he picked it up. Next day I discovered it had a shreaded blown out tire that he must have known about. Thereafter if somebody asked me if they can borrow my trailer I always say, "No, but you can borrow ME, my tow vehicle, and my trailer". Most get the message, but if they say yes at least I usually get a free meal and a tank of gas out of it.
Well, I ended up with nothing as I watched some Caddy intakes I was bidding on sell higher than I wanted to give.
Really really would have liked one of those "specials". If only I was 40yrs old instead of 79.....and not battling cancer. I gave up on my Devin bodied project several years ago and it moved on to a younger man with ambition and dreams. It sure looked like the vintage Oldsmobile guys should have had an awesome day.....really really neat and rare stuff. I did manage to score of pair of Carter 146-240 sidedraft carbs. I may need them just in case I ever get my 53 Vette 6 banger intake ready for my 261.....or decide to use them for a nice two carb sidedraft on my Chev II 4 banger. Hope everybody had a good time watching......dreaming.....and buying. Have fun
Also.....most of these auction companies will post the winning bid/selling prices within a day or two on the Past Auctions portion of their websites.....hope that is the case with this company.
I think they use one of those cheap freight company's that has a policy NOT to ship to Kalifornia. Been there with engine parts.
My purchase is only fit for the OT forum, but it should still be fun. I did resist bidding on the Banshee as that would have been a sweet score. Hope Ryan got it.
Hope Ryan got his Banshee looks like the engine for went really cheap. @corncobcoupe did you bid on the blower manifold for your Poncho? If so hope you got it, it would make your car that much more awesome and rare! Dan
There was definitely some cool stuff in the auction, me and a buddy did buy a few things, i tried hard on the roadster but had a budget to stay within. we were also bidding on the banshee, if i had known the roadster wasnt happening ida prob bid more but we dont know what the top buyer was willing to bid. this stuff was from a guys collection in South St Paul, i dunno anything about it and never heard of his name and i know everyone in Mn
I sobered up near the end and did not bid any further. I did not need any of it and those parts will be better off in the hands of people that will use them. Besides a friend of mine went to the preview and said that everything was way rougher than it looked in the auction pictures....
Is anyone from SE WI going to get parts? The 1 piece I won is not worth the drive- But it is worth a 12 pack
If you know anyone heading to Tourqe fest you might be able to get it relayed to you. Or if you travel to central Iowa some time I could grab it and store it till it works to get it to you.
I am heading up in the AM. Leaving about 6 probably heading to Torquefest and will probably know somebody from the Milwaukee area to get it to you.
I’ll see you up there. My trailer is hooked and ready to roll. Holler if you run into any problems. Still haven’t gotten an Email saying how much to bring.
heres some stuff that went home with me and a buddy…. cars were on the rough side but parts were pretty good, i thought prices were fair but not crazy, buyers rip was pretty average, i buy alot at the place that had the auction so im there often. i bought a few things to keep and so did my buddy and he bought some stuff to resell eventually
Nice score. Is the scoop on the injected blower a keeper or a resell? If it’s a resell, is it a solid base set up for the injection or adjustable to fit 2 4s?
Nice haul! Thanks for sharing. I thought the prices were decent as well, stuff wasn't fire-sale cheap but it wasn't sky high for the most part, aside from a couple random bits. I'd really like to know more about the guy whose collection this was. It was a lot of cool stuff, but nobody seemed to know who he was.
Solid haul... I got some images of the Banshee and decided to bail at $3k... But man, what a cool car.
Living in South Florida and looking at those prices I'm crying. It's like they gave it all away and everyone says it's fair pricing. Down here everyone overprices eeeveeerything. -__-
i was trying for 32 after i decided to stop bidding i went back to the banshee, i took it from 4000 to 5000 then decided i was out and should focus on my own projects! lol
