Boy, I am dragging *** on this build. Winter is not helping. Right now, I have most of the welding done and am modifying the front garnish moldings, as I will have 33 doors and gl***. I don't really like the roll back windows on the 34. The 33 look is cleaner. Next, I have to get it sitting back on the ch***is to fit the doors, front end, etc. To make sure everything is lined up.

After that, I can send the ch***is off to the powder coater while I finish the blasting, priming and undercoating. After that, things should get moving along again.. Right....:D

No build is easy but if I knew then, what I know now, I'm not sure I would have started this build. This is my first "slender fender" build and it had me going in circles for quite a while.

There are very few "how to" resources that tell you how to fit and gap the front end. It is different from later models with adjustable hoods, plus the reproduction fenders, running boards, hood, radiator, etc. don't just fit together. I have the car up on cribbing boxes and I have been up and down hundreds of times removing and installing panels but I am now confident I will prevail.

Once I got the sheet metal reasonably lined up, it became apparent the front fenders would have to be modified in order to fit the grille properly. Today, I got one side fabbed and tacked. I will post some tips for others when I get to my PC.

Nice patch. Looks like the dreaded "reverse" curve.

Looks great. I can relate to "if I knew then, what I know now, I'm not sure I would have started this build".

  7. I was steered to your build (don't know how I previously missed it) from your link in the cl***ified section. Nice work! Somebody is going to get a real great start on a solid/well built project.

I hear you on losing steam on a project. There are times when I put a project to the side for a while...and after some time p***es, sure enough, I get re-enthused.
