I am hoping you can help me with a problem so I can proceed with my project. I bought a frame for my 1960 GMC SWB and the seller had no information on when it was made. All I have is this number I found by the driver's front cab mount. I'm hoping you can help me out with an id? Frame number below: Thanks, Johnathan Garner
The first number is the part number for the frame rail, it doesn't seem to be on the internet anywhere as an answered question. But the posed questions suggest it's a mid 60s GMC frame. I doubt you'll be able to find info about the truck it was from, as GMC apparently did not stamp partial serial numbers on frames at that time. Good luck...posting pictures showing what the frame looks like may help a little.
Well since they are not serial numbers, it's not looking like an easy win anyway. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showpost.php?p=3110392&postcount=8 https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showpost.php?p=3110398&postcount=9 https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showpost.php?p=3110405&postcount=10 Thread on 60-66 frames. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/showthread.php?t=325736
True...but numbers that clear whether part numbers or vin numbers have not looked that good in my world. I recently moved to Kansas, they want to inspect vin numbers from out state, all my trailers from rotten minnesota have no visible stamps.
