Wow...hate to hear that Darrell couldn't keep going in the truck but glad he could ride along with you in the Victoria. And, as for the heads...it does seem somewhat fitting that they are now headed this way with an Edsel?

 

Well shoot. At least there was a workable solution....even if it left a truck safely behind

My mother always thought Route 66 around Lincoln was a "killer" road. There used to be a 90 degree bend in old 66 at Lincoln.

We discovered the issue at a photo stop...it sounds like the ring gear has come loose on the carrier....
fortunate that it happened this way other than catastrophically.
Darrell is understandably bummed but is happy to be tagging along on this adventure...but he kinda feels like this gas pump we encountered...

One of these days I'm gonna have to do a road trip like this. It looks like so much fun. I always take the easy way and trailer my stuff to out of state events.

That 60 Impala looks like it could be put back on the road with a couple weeks of work
