The above was written for a national audience, not California specifically.

You read enough of these and suddenly you want a Chevy Superior in your life to mess with...

Gear for putting a Chevy 3-speed in your Model T. I think this is circa 1924. Obviously not purely a hop-up, it would be a worthy mod to a gow-job T and perhaps more flexible than a Warford or such.

Of course, a lot of the coolest speed parts east of the Mississippi actually went on boats.

This stuff is so damn cool. I’ve been casually looking for an early Autopulse for the jalopy for a few years now. Later models were common on the early gasoline powered salmon gillnet boats when the fleet in Bristol Bay converted from sail to power in the early ‘50s. I remember seeing them in derelict hulls scattered around the villages on the bay.

Look for copies of Don Radbruch's Roaring Roadsters, AKA "Tex Smith's Roaring Roadsters" by Radbruch. There are two books.

These parts were far flung… if only we had some photo evidence of the cars that used them.

Interesting commentary on a Roof-equipped Ford on a trip from Florida to Pennsylvania…
