Lots of Teslas here. The Giga Factory is just over there hill and I think the workers get a big discount. Usually see several of the "pickups" every trip to Reno. I have yet to see one hauling ANYTHING.

Well, it finally happened to me!!!
I had only read about it from people buying parts, I was pricing tires at C@$/co, as I normally do I gave the guy every bit of info needed, then he asked me half of it again, then he asks "what color is it"?
Yep, I couldn't believe he actually asked me that, I said "you must be joking", nope, he says the computer won't let me go any further until it gets A COLOR, I says who came up with such a stupid question to buy tires, he paused, shrugged, says corporite, I so wanted to say PINK but figured why make this more painful for both of us than it already is.

    Meh.
Most likely the system is setup for purchase and not browsing. Costco tire centers around here are usually very busy.

Thus in a parking lot sea of vehicles they are gonna need to know what color for easy identification/verification.
I've checked tire pricing from CoCost logged in online, just look up pricing that way, much easier/faster.

Not sure, but I think I MAY have found out why the compression in that cylinder was low...

I would have bought them somewhere else. But if you buy it with a credit card "they" know what you buy.

This is a prime example of how the parts houses theses days suffer from over use of the computer, and the reality of NOT having the big racks of catalogs that used to be the way the parts counter people would look up the information for your car, or truck.
    Thanks from Dennis.

By the time you find out what you need hide "they" will already know you have it. Things I could have when I was a kid are not allowed now.

Not too long ago being Parts Guy was a career. It payed enough and was interesting enough that smart guys chose to spend years doing it. They gained tons of knowledge over the years. Mechanics fixed stuff. Now Technicians replace stuff, entire systems when one small piece fails. Counterpersons today are generally entry level "Associates" with very little training. They are not even fully taught to use the computers which usually have more capabilities than get used. None of these young people were alive when cars had points or carburetors. If they work on cars it is usually not what we work on. Some are full of Rice Rocket info.

When the CarQuest store I had worked at closed the owner offered the catalogs to me. I took what I thought I could. Hardly another of the parts numbers are good anymore but can be crossed. The best parts computer system I used was at CarQuest. It was basically all of the catalogs in an electronic box. It must have been created by car guys not computer guys. The computers I used at Kragen & O'Reilly were not as good. Both companies grew too fast by acquiring independents and smaller parts companies and had to merge computer systems. The seemed to have adopted the lesser systems to save money. Anyway the parts business is not what it was and like it or not it won't go back to a knowledgable friendly Parts Guy knowing what you need before you finish telling him. We are dinosaurs.

  15. AI ? Whats that red traffic sign supposed to mean ? Besides that, woman has hose from the left pump and is looking at the right pump filling a Tesla with a fucked up left rear taillight. Are,nt you supposed to squeeze the handle / trigger on a gas pump ? Besides all that even if it is real the norm these days is don,t warn someone, wait till it blows up for a better photo or film.

Looks to me like the Ford driver cut the corner too close to the railing, and realized the boat trailer was not going to clear the railing. He was probably trying to get over far enough for the trailer to clear and ran out of room. Once the tire dropped over the wall, he was done.

I was pulling into McDonald's for a quick grab-n-go breakfast via the drive-thru, when I spotted a Jeep on the street I turned in from with the driver sitting in the car talking to another guy standing next to the Jeep with what appeared to be (foreshadowing) jumper cables in his hand, but no other vehicle in sight. The drive-thru line was long, so I thought I'd be a nice guy and offer use of the battery 'jump pack' I carry in my car. I pull up, roll my passenger window down and say "I've got a jump pack." The two look puzzled, conversed with each other en Español, and it was my turn again. I said "I saw the jumper cables," pointing at what the one guy was holding, "and figured you needed a jump." This is when the guy held up what is now clearly a bridle set for a horse and told me they were 'all good' (I THINK that's what he said). Realizing my error, I smiled, waved to my two new puzzled amigos, and got back in the que for my McBreakfast.

Gets you enough lift to jump over the messed up bridge if you hit it fast enough. Everyone knows that! Haven't you ever watched the Dukes of Hazard? Man, get with the program.
