Paid for my part (I think) but it is not worth the 8 hour round trip..
Also stunned that Sat. pick ups are not possible.
They offered to include it in a future auction for me if I wanted to consign...
Their consignment fee is $35%. Yeh, that is what I told her!
I will stick to Hansen, Real People over there!

Have a couple of sidedraft carbs that I would like to get to E. Iowa or close to Madison or Milwaukee Wi. if anybody wants a little beer money.

I was there yesterday morning. Paid, loaded, strapped and turned around in 30 minutes. Stopped along my way home in Dubuque and talked with some people I know from Pleasant Prairie that could have got whatever it was that close, or I know there were a bunch of people from the Dubuque area there as well, but I never heard from you guys. I posted Wednesday night that I was running up yesterday morning.

In regards to the posts about it not being worth the time to go get parts from the auction.
Once upon a time I bid on 8 items on a online auction that was a 4 hour drive one way from me.
Won 1 item with a winning bid of $8.00. Had a choice to make.
Loaded up the wife and dog and made a day trip out of it. Zipped up the fastest route and got the part.
Meandered our way home taking backroads through small towns. Ate at a Mom and Pop diner.
Stopped at antique stores. Saw the coolness of the state. Even found a couple out of the way little junkyards.
Ended up being a awesome 12 hour day all because of a $8.00 part.
It's all about how we look at things. My 2 cents.

They offered help load so I figured you got loaded quick and were on your way already when I didn't see your trailer or the car you were there to pick up. The vette did run and drove up onto the trailer. There was a few surprises both positive and negative, but it was definitely worth it. Did you make it to Torque Fest?

Stopped by on my way through to say hi to a couple early arrivals. The show doesn't actually start until today at noon.

Only mildly related but years ago I won a parts car on eBay for $40 or $50 (I don't remember exactly, but virtually nothing) and I drove nonstop from northern Wisconsin to Mississippi to pick it up. Seller was really nice but shocked that I actually came to get it.

Bought a 37 chevy sedan body for $2 on the E site and drove 5 hours each way to pick it up.

Thanks again for your earlier offer to folks to throw a few parts on. I have several options to get the parts or I may just do a road trip to get them and close a deal on some John Deere 318 parts nearby. Have fun and thanks again for your offer to others and your commentary on the entire auction event.

I live in the Prescott AZ area. Drove to Los Angeles for a windshield, Parhump for wheels. Not as far, but a good day each. Both were worth it. Can't say about something less than a sawbuck, but that's up to you.
