I just want to let y’all know not to buy anything from classic performance products out in Anaheim ca. aka cpp it’s all junk that don’t function properly they won’t take back there faulty gear box back for exchange or refund because they know there parts are all trash but they will try to sell you other part why would you buy another part when the first part you bought doesn’t work to begin with. Just a mass produced parts company looking get rich selling bad parts it’s all made in china so It should really be named china parts prone to fail. Don’t throw your hard earned money to waste with there piece of shit parts

    Okay.
Have some details on what you bought, and what you received?

good size company, lots of advertising, at a lot of events. have had rides with parts supplied by them that seemed to be OK. of course with new shipping changes they may not be getting replacement parts too soon. so, please give details on parts you have had problems with that need to be avoided.

  7. .....and please learn the difference between "there" and " their".

Twenty years ago I had dropped spindles from them on my 72 Suburban and they were just fine.

They were a single source for a steering box and pitman arm I needed. After installation, I chased a serious steering issue that ultimately was due to a defective steering box. This all happened while doing other things to my truck so I was a little slow in trouble shooting things. But, I was within the stated warranty period when I contacted them about this issue. I was told to adjust the slop out of the new box by using the set screw (which should definitely not be needed on a new steering box). When that didn't work to solve the problem, I got back with them and I was told I violated their warranty by turning the set screw in (even though it was their own people who told me to do so). At that point they told me that I was beyond their warranty period and they would not send me a replacement box but would offer another box at their cost. Not a good company.

I always thought CPP was like harbor freight. Everyone goes into it knowing it is cheap garbage and there is a chance that it won't work but lets face it, we still buy it.

  12. The stuff I bought for the wife’s 56 fit perfect. Instructions on cutting the column were spot on.

bought spindles elsewhere that claimed to be US made

Well, If I listened to all disgruntled buyer's about Harbor Freight, CPP, Howard's Sheet metal, Speedway, etc., there would be no place to buy anything.
I think that instead of listening to a disgruntled buyer, I'll do my own due diligence and purchase my items where I see fit.

I don't have any stock in these people, but I do have their brakes on my 41 PU, including Chrome M/C, Booster, proportioning valve, calipers, rotors. All work fine and installed as they should. On my roadster I have their all-in-one M/C (internal PP valve, brake light switch, etc, that was a joy to install (very clean) and works fine for 6 years of driving. MY SS/rs I sold had their complete 4 wheel slotted and drilled disc set up, M/C, Delco Remy stamped booster, hold off valve, etc.

On their customer service I will add that I bought the front brakes for the PU and didn't unbox them for 6 months due to health issues. When I finally did, I realized that I had erred and ordered 6 lug bolt patterns and I figured I was out a few hundred bucks. They took the entire lot back and shipped out the correct items...for free. They didn't have to, the error was mine.

Obviously, I will continue to do business with them and should have when my 442 brakes failed recently. I dealt with the wrong company on that one for a few bucks less money. Lesson learned.

I hate to add up what I have spent there in the last 15 years (I really hate to have my wife find out!) but it is a ton of money and I was and remain extremely satisfied. I can't speak for the OP's issues, and I am not making light of them, I am just offering, as Paul Harvey used to say, the rest side of the story.

    Signed, a faithful CCP customer.

It is entirely possible the quality of recent parts may have been down graded over the last couple of years, just like the quality of many other parts have. There didn't used to be any concern about new parts being defective, but that is the current reality.

What parts or customer service a company had (or did) a few years ago, may not resemble what they have (or do) now.

We all should remember that during the Covid years, not much of anything was good.

A time frame covering the date of the purchase (or build date) of the defective parts could bring a whole new understanding. The defective parts may still be Covid products, or it could be the results of a very recent development in the company's quality policy.

With out knowing when the defective parts were produced, many may be jumping to the wrong conclusions.

I ordered the C-10 steering box and conversion kit for my old AD Panel from them years ago. They had 2 versions and sent me the wrong one. Before I could even repack and ship back the first one, they sent me the correct one. Worked great...no complaints.

Flaming River is just as bad. Charged me $175 to correct a machining issue of the input shaft being to long. To add insult to the fact, they sent it back to me in the same packaging I sent it to them in and charged twice as much for shipping than I paid. Flaming River sucks too!

And I'd like to buy some punctuation. But the situation, language aside, is crap.
