Cannot log into website from my Android phone

Discussion in 'Questions & Suggestions' started by 383deuce, Apr 26, 2025.

  1. My son is attempting to create a bookmark for the H.A.M.B. that gives us a nice shortcut logo on my screen. But when attempting to "Log-In" it fails to log me in with the correct credentials.
Is it just because I've never logged into it before on my phone, or am I missing something?
User name and password is correct. Even tried to re-register thinking mobile link might require a new login. Did not work.
    Assistance, or any help appreciated.

    Hello,

I have never used the HAMB search on my phone. It is a 5 year old Android phone and works just fine. I have 20/20 vision, but the small screen, actually it is the largest screen possible for an Android phone, makes things easier when I want to increase the screen size. But, you do loose the whole screen concept. That is why I never have used it since 2020.

It helps to shut down your phone and count to 10. Then reboot it to use, again. Sometimes that simple thing helps in all situations from games to using a text message. I type in HAMB on the Google Search blank space of the phone home page and it goes right to the HAMB information title page. Logging in is simple as it is on the website. But, it still is a small screen. Also, typing anything on the dinky screen and mini keyboard is not my favorite.

I have used a 30 inch monitor with a desktop CPU and it was ok. Large is not always the best for anything. As soon as I got a high powered laptop with a 17 inch, (then 18 inch screen years later) I am satisfied with the overall crystal clear view. Not too large and certainly not too small. 17 inch versus 4 inch is no contest...

For us, phones are for what phones are supposed to be as a main portable tool. Not a rolling information source. Although, my wife thinks it is very handy when she uses her music identifying app to find out the name of an old song or a good new one. YRMV

Sorry, I forgot to include this item to help your phone, home computer or laptop/tablets. It is a simple process and takes a minute or two.

    Hello,

One other thing that is done weekly, bi weekly or anytime is to clear the CACHE.

    What is cache?

A collection of data of the same type stored in a hidden place. All computers from phones to laptops to CPU units store daily cache when being used.

Why don’t we see the cache?

In personal computers, cache memory is used to speed up access to data and applications. By storing frequently used data in cache, the CPU can access this data much faster than if it had to retrieve it from the main memory or the hard drive. Every time we all go to a different page or type something on a website.

So, if you follow the above steps starting with the phone and “three dots,” then your phone, desktop computer, laptop or tablet will run a little smoother and allow it to work more efficiently.

It is a simple thing and even my wife clears out the cache on a weekly basis or when she complains about her phone, tablet or home computer is running funny or slow. "clear the cache" or just reboot or both... YRMV

I’ve never had problems with the android devices I’ve got both a phone and a pad and they’re easy to navigate, but I’m having trouble with a new iPad and getting icons on my desktop like I can on my phones.

I am confused. Is there an actually HAMB app with a home screen icon that I can download from the Playstore or do I need to just log in though a browser like Yahoo?
