    I agree Nicks work is Pebble Beach Quality. Plan on lots of $$. They wanted 30k to paint my Ghia. A sample of their work. nicks benz.jpg

    Look for:

    Restoration shop not body shop. They work on different business plans. Restoration shops can't succeed at crash and dent, the converse is true.

    Work history/ due your homework. Shop around

    Look at personal vs cars on the floor. 1 guy to 10 cars move on.

    Trust the guy you are dealing with. If you don't trust him find someone you do.

    Itemized billing

    Look at work being done and completed jobs.

    No big deposits for labor. Small shops may not be able to make major purchases without $ upfront but see what you are paying for.

    Pay quickly and bring up any questions right away. Project get out of hand quickly.

    Make sure you have a large chunk of disposable income.

    Manage expectations on both sides. Keep an open dialog. If they are not working on your car and you are not the problem (bills paid in a timely manner) then ask why? If they continue to not meet expectations discuss it with the owner and be prepared to pay bill and pull the project.
