Even with a light some pin holes may get missed. Do you recommend the use of metal 2 metal filler on pin holes?
I've used All-Metal filler on pitted frames before to smooth them prior to paint work and it's lasted a very long time as long as all the rust is neutralized first. Great product for pits or pinholes that are rust free first.
I use a light behind the panel and check for any pin holes. Then weld any that can be found. Then prime both sides with epoxy primer which will seal it up.
I have fixed cars and trucks every way. Repair every stitch of rust, down to building rusty 1975 Chevy trucks in the 80's, bedsides made out of screen and putty. Each has it's place. Most of our cars get very little miles put on them and sit in garages and never see a drop of water. I know I am going against the grain by saying this. If you put filler over a few pin holes It will probably never be a problem in your lifetime. But you will always know that you cheated.
