......The hard way - ever since I lowered my shoebox in the front (only 2" but it was enough) I've bumped my bald head into one of the corners literally dozens of times.....I've taken to using a board to hold it higher! Next mod is to lengthen the prop rod.....so those rounded corners on low riding traditional customs weren't just for looks or to showcase ones skills - they prevented bloodshed - a pic of the offending corner, but I'll spare you my scarred head

I put a pool noodle on the edge of the hood. Also on my lift ramps, so when it's raised I won't kill myself on them. Lastly wear a ball cap backwards. It offers just enough warning before you smack the tender skin.

If you’re going to wear a ball cap remove the button on top.
One day I saw my boss cutting the button off a brand new hat so I ask him why. He says have you ever had the button drove into your noggin? No I haven’t but he evidently had more than once he showed me the bruise and bump on his bald head - interesting

Reminds me of my ‘56 Meteor. The leading edge of the hood has a star shaped chunk of chrome. Forgot about it the first time I looked under the hood... never again!

Talking about hats and baldy noggins, have you seen Bad Chad's modification? He's no longer wearing hats. Not sure why YouTube led me to that the other day as I'm not exactly a fan!

Hats with peaks can cause you to bump your head (if worn the right way round). You don't see the low thing in front of you. I saw a clip where two ex presidents both bump their heads exiting a helicopter.

Yeah, rounded corners look neato. I'll not talk of times I rang my chime.( ding*dong*tweetweet )
Do want to mention rhe treatment that always impressed me was the 'pancake' treatment.
Weld and mold the front and perimeters to the fenders.
    Keep that engine outta sight.

    No, do tell.
And if we gonna go HI-Jack this pain in the brain thread:
As a junior driver, sixty some years ago, I learned quick to be sure of
rolling the door window all the way down before sticking my melon out checking for traffic.
This rookie mistake results in window bites left ear, head recoils away and door top bites right ear.
    Some times 'rinse and repeat'
Did not take too long to 'outgrow' , stupid

Factory flaw on my Olds, the hood hinges suck! They only allow the hood to be partially open which has led to a permanent dent in the back of my head form the hood latch. 28 years and I still hit my head on it. I recently installed hood pins, never thought about removing the center latch.

You’re supposed to put a bout a 2 1/2” slice in a tennis ball and put it over the latch. It saves many gallons of lost blood.

I'd be lying if I said that wasn't a contributing factor to rounding the hood corners on my old 51 Merc.

That thing got me more than once before I did that.

I'm not saying I hit it all the time but if the NFL had a ref in my shop I would be spending a lot of time in the blue tent on the sidelines.

Billy the tennis ball trick really works. I had a chevelle that would bite the same way.

Find some cheap foam packing that comes in many packages and cut out a shape in the middle to allow it to slide over each corner. Then anytime you open the hood to work on it again slip them on first.
