If I was king, the guy that did this would be flogged mercilessly in the town square just to set an example.

Pretty obvious no one would let him park on their street.

This is a very early brochure for the 57 model year, must have been some last minute design department adjustments for final production as that single quarter trim appears as a carryover from 56.
As far as I know, Dagmars were not standard on BelAirs as many people think, was an "add on" item, don't know the timeline, may have been a GM parts item after delivery.

I think that was the original plan for the 210, to not have those upper moldings at all. I have a couple of those dealer promo display cards on my office wall, one for a '57 Belair and one for a '56 wagon that I got at an auction. But they also had one for a '57 210 and it didn't have the upper trim either. I tried to buy it but it sold for more than I was willing to pay. Clearly though, not just a one-off misprint, I think the decision was made late-in-the-game to include the upper moldings on the 210, after most of the pre-production literature and promotional material was made.

  28. I really wanted this car when it popped up on marketplace, but, it got sold right away. I figured it would make a unique street\strip car.
