  2. Just saw this old post!! Yes, I used that article.

  3. I got the instructions when i picked up the shifter for dads coupe, but he has them filed some place with all the paperwork for the every part on the car. It may take me some time to locate them.
If you have all the parts, i can walk you through the installation ai it's fairly straight foward. there are two brackets the shifter body bolt to, an adjustable rod and a shift lever the triangler bracket bolts on using the top two transmission tailshaft bolts. The other bracket looks a little like a bent l bracket bolts to the first bracketand the transmission mount bolt. the rest should be fairly easy to figure.
This is a link to the thread i started a few years ago when i built a reverse lockout for dads coupe with a Torqueflite and Autostick 1.

Hey, just picked up a Hurst auto stick 1 for a TH350. Problem is I don’t have a trans lever or linkage rod. I have seem previous posts saying you can use the 5759 trans lever, but what would be an alternative for the TH350 rod? Ty in advance!

  5. If I didn't have pushbuttons in my 40.
I'd have one of these. Gene.

  6. I had to make a new rod for the Auto-stick using a steel rod from the hardware store. If iremember right, the rod is 1/2" and the adjuster is end threads were 1/2-20. the adjuster is the same as what a hurst comptition plus shifter uses. For the shift lever, you may be able to be able to modify the stock chevy lever.

You can buy adjustable trans levers also that allow different attachment points to shorten or lengthen the throw. I have one on my trans I got to make sure my shift indicator lines up with the detents.
3/8" rods and heim ends work great to make a new rod work.

I was thinking that I would use the 5759 hurst lever and use 3/8 linkage rod with heim joints on each end to ensure the proper distance. I need to make sure the the distance from the trans lever slot to the rod hole is 2 1/4 to keep the geometry correct.
