I've read the name Kennedy Brothers but can't find any info about them. They have ad in Hop Up and list their website as www.kennedybrothershotrods.com, but that name is owned by one of the web engines (under construction?). Can anyone point me towards some work by these guys? Thanks, don
Two of the nicest guys you will ever meet. They are right next to So-Cal speed shop in Pomona and do super clean work and have every hard to find part known to man. Jay has the inside for my Driver's door and he will probably put it in in a few months. Their cars go into private collections and many are never seen. If you stop by their shop dont bring your Visa because they only take American Express.
They approached me about doing a web site for them a week or so ago... I think I was too expensive, but they seemed like really nice people...
I saw a '32 5 window that they built in a magazine a while back, it was NICE. I also tried there web address and got nothing. I would like to see what else they have built.
[ QUOTE ] They approached me about doing a web site for them a week or so ago... [/ QUOTE ] That would be a pretty good indication that they don't yet have a website. Thanks for letting me know. I guess I'll have to wait to see their cars.
they are REALLY nice guys (a rare thing, seeing the cars they put out). i went to look at a '40 they had for sale, never met them before and i ended up talking with them for hours. i got a shop tour and they even hooked me up with a customer of theirs that had a '36 5w for sale. they have a mountain of parts and had a real nice '37 coupe body (about a year ago).
Don [DRD57] -- you have a PM Thanks for more info. I saw the coupe in Hop Up and was wondering what other projects they have done. It's nice to hear that they have a great reputation. -don
joe and jay run a pretty much private deal with a decent waiting list catering to a few repeat customers i think they go by early iron ( i cant remember ), that five window is an excellent example of the caliber of work they do actually its probely a beater compared to the other cars ive seen ...all very trad., and definatly *****in my boss knew their dad i guess he was a pretty big player down there with the resto crowd a few decades ago.. they are very down to earth and very talented i cant belive the dont get lots more press there work definatly deserves it
The coupe pictured above is now in Houston. There is a book that is nothing but 32 Ford hotrods, there are some pictures in it of a 5 window they chopped. The metal work is absolutely amazing, the top looks like it was stamped that way from the factory. I have met them before and they really are some nice guys, they aren't on the ego trip that usually comes with the recognition they have recieved.
Joe & Jay have built some cars for members of our car club. Whenever we are in Pomona we always make a point of stopping by their shop. They are a couple of the very best traditional car builders I know of! Here is some pics of club members cars and a couple I took in their shop a while ago. First is the 32 roadster of Brent Bodily's
Last one, a hemi powered 32 5 window I found hiding in the back room. Joe & Jay's Dad is Bob Kennedy, well known car collector and woodgraining expert. Mick
WOW. Thanks for those pictures, Mick. It's exciting to see a portfolio of projects so beautiful. Thanks, guys.
Thanks for sharing the pics, perfect looking rods and customs. Cars with that cl*** deserves to have a site designed by Ryan...
If you have the newest "Hop Up" there is an article on Alan Engleseer's 40 Merc that the Kennedys built. I have some old build up photos of the car somewhere, it turned out absolutely beautiful!
i thought i seen that car before, they were working on that when i went there, i also bought lynns 5w "parts car" (that's lynn's other '36 in the picture).
Any news on the Kennedy Brothers and their projects? Pictures would be very cool. Are they still building stuff?
Yes, they post on Instagram pretty regularly. They always have very nice traditional projects going on. Super nice guys too.
They're very active on Instagram, also if you know East Coast Mike he could put you in touch. If you want, I can text him and ask.
