PXL_20250331_190513387.MP.jpg I have two front bumpers. One is chrome for show, the second will be paint for go. Giving it a skim coat of bondo.
Frank has to plan where the water pump and all the other plumbing will go. View attachment 6362206 PXL_20250331_200013137.jpg

Looking great if Frank needs some guidance on fitting the water pump and related plumbing I'm sure I could help. ;) On our race car finding space has been one of the interesting challenge's which each time I have been able to accomplish. :D

Thanks for the offer. We do have plenty of room under the hood.

I fount it was easier to mount as much as I could on the other side of my stock head GMC’s where there was a little more room. I’ve never used freeze plug holes for cooling lines either with the stock head. Using the stock rear head line to the thermostat housing and feeding the stock front block hole has cooled our 14-1 compression engine just fine. Everything you are doing/constructing looks great!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm liking that side there for the water and oil filter. Looks like enough room for -8 lines to #2 and #4 core plugs. I ran a drag race electric motor drive to the stock pump for the Mile and a half Loring runs but thought for the 3 mile SCTA more balanced flow might be a good idea.

Where did the midplate come from? Great looking work on the entire truck.

Very nice! Like the valve cover hold downs. What distributer is that, a GM HEI ? Do you gave a source for the cap on the oil filler/breather? I lost mine and with all the GMCs sitting around here I don't have another. Looked on eBay till I gave up.

The distributor is a Summit copy of a late 6 cylinder Chevy HEMI. Frank modified it to fit.It has Davis Unified Ignition cap rotor coil module.
The oil filler came on another engine. I don't have another.

Cool, Thanks. That is all the distributor you'll need until you pass 10,000 rpm.

Oil filler is standard military even though that’s a civilian block. I see you have the deflector that mounts on the block on the inside. Every thing looks great!

Here's mine before I lost it. It was on the civilian 270 when I pulled it from a '57 pickup. They shouldn't be hard to find.

Where they run your “HAMB unfriendly” is not allowed in a vintage engine class (XO Gas Production) it would be against later model trucks (E Gas Production) if it was ever available in a GMC pickup. There is a 10 mph difference between the speed. That 4.2 Atlas can be used in their pickup and would be classified as a Modified at still close 10+ mph difference.

E is dominated by V8’s for-the most part and anything bigger than 4.276 L would move to D. If it were used as a D in the Modified category there is a 60 mph difference.

That looks good! Getting excited yet?

Mike, There are several guys on the Inliners International site that run those. There are at least a half dozen of them in our local chapter.
