On our travels after the very successful round up we were headed north.my wife found a 3 day swap meet in Chickasha OK. The published information said 20,000 people. I think 19,000 stayed away. There by 7,30 gone by 8.30 A little soft underfoot in places, but clear sunny skies. Spent $5 on parking, that is it. While there were more plots a lot of very tired junk that has survived numerous swap meets.
I'm not from around there, and have never been to the Chickasaw swap meet, but I've heard about it for years. This year, it's been all over the internet that it was not going to happen. So this is puzzling.
The main event was the chickasha pre war swap that was the 3rd week in march for the last 30 years. However, last year was the end of that as the family that ran it had had enough. There always was a spring and fall swap put on by a local car club, all years of stuff, never been there for that.
“ Chickasha Swap Meet “ means different things to different people - the traditional spring pre war meet was moved - it was a big success with over 700 vendors about two months ago. I helped promote it in advance … https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...arch-15th-16th-vendor-set-march-15th.1311299/ Jim
Ok so the flyer we got for the first full weekend in May being 20000 people was somewhat quite misleading . But that’s History now. Went by “Mary’s swap meet “in OKC , while more of a flea market, it was pretty decent sized and varied interesting. No 32 ford stuff LOL!
