Sadly, a mechanical pump ain't happening. I'm not a big electric pump guy, but the alternator needed the space more than the pump did.

Here we are, regular old Sunday night update.

Set up the master and slave for the clutch. This is by far, the easiest clutch set up I have ever done. Simple, quick, no drama.

    red345-11-25-1.jpg

Engages the clutch right in the perfect spot.

    red345-11-25-2.jpg

    Rear ladder bar kit.

    red345-11-25-3.jpg

And there you go, the FlamedAbone US Military/rock crawler/monster truck style ladder bars. Good for about a 1000 horse more than the little small block makes.

    red345-11-25-4.jpg

Now, the fun part. Quick changes are super simple to set up.

    red345-11-25-5.jpg

    Start by chillin'

    red345-11-25-6.jpg

    And grillin'

    red345-11-25-7.jpg

Slam the two together and drill the retaining bolts.

    red345-11-25-8.jpg

Cook the center section and install the pinion and lower shaft.

    red345-11-25-9.jpg

    Start assembling the guts

    red345-11-25-10.jpg

Shim the whole shiteree to 12 thou.

    red345-11-25-11.jpg

Do the shim dance until you get 4 to 6 thou of pinion back lash.

    red345-11-25-12.jpg

    Real Magnesium Color, Eddie?

    Nuttin but the best, Clark.

    red345-11-25-13.jpg

    All together

    red345-11-25-14.jpg

The 8 inch and leaf springs gotta go.

    red345-11-25-15.jpg

    Better already.

    red345-11-25-16.jpg

Monster truck ladder bars ready for action.

    red345-11-25-17.jpg

Yea!! A roller, finally, and the Quickie in her new home.

    red345-11-25-18.jpg

Not sure what's next, but it will likely be somthin'

    See ya, -Abone.

I'm sure there is an exhaust kit for a '34 Ford with a Chevvie, but I'm a roll your own kind of guy.

    red345-25-25-1.jpg

Work around some obstacles, but nothing major.

    red345-25-25-2.jpg

Man, this sure was a lot of hard work. It was..... exhausting.....

    red345-25-25-3.jpg

    Now for the shin catcher.

    red345-25-25-4.jpg

    Adios, mofo.

    red345-25-25-5.jpg

Carve it up until it looks like it is supposed to.

    red345-25-25-6.jpg

A little more high and tight.

    red345-25-25-7.jpg

Shows off the quickie a bit.

    red345-25-25-8.jpg

Not sure of the origin of this fire wall, definitely some sort of re-pop as it has a BIG ass distributor notch.

    red341-12-25-1.jpg

Some of it had to go to fit the little Chevvie motor.

    red345-25-25-9.jpg

And there you have it and not a single in progress shot. And, I'm out of welding gas, so tacked is all you get. Use your imagination and pretend that it is fully welded and metal finished.

    red345-25-25-10.jpg

    Next up is floor boards.

    See ya, -Abone.

That ass end came up really well. Nice job. @flamedabone did you cut that rear bar a few times to get the curve in it or bend it another way?

  19. My favorite part of these builds is that you hardly ever see any tools or equipment or anything in the pics? But then poof!!! Badass hotrod! Is like magic or something?! ;)

My Pop's coupe has a similar rear treatment, but the flange is removed.

Floors aren't very exciting, but you gotta do em. I like to start just forward of middle to give the toe boards and trans tunnel something to weld to.

    red346-8-25-1.jpg

Then, I like to finish the whole project and forget to take any pictures.

    red346-8-25-2.jpg

Once the floorboard is done, that sucker is a whole car.

    red346-8-25-3.jpg

From the FlamedAbone, Primitive Yet Functionable Collection (tm), here are the seat mounts.

    red346-8-25-4.jpg

And, a set of store bought buckets. Yea, I know I'm kind of a bench guy, but I thought I might switch it up a bit for this one.

    red346-8-25-5.jpg

The little car is now mostly mocked up with all the sheet metal attached, so that means this is probably the last pic you will see of the stock roof. All you " don't chop it" guys should quit looking at this thread, because I'm fixin to whack this pile.

Chop seems good - question: extend roof or tilt windshield back? I like the tilt look
