Nevermind , looked it up, 291 cu in Bubba expert, must have took the valve cover etc of decades ago. Probably full of water
That would be a 291 Desoto Hemi if the car is a Desoto. It would probably be a 330 Chrysler Hemi if its in a Chrysler car (assuming the motor is original to the car). Both the Desoto and the Chrysler had similar cars in 55. Dodge also had a similar car with its own Hemi motor (can't remember its cubic inch size). Its either a Chrysler or its a Desoto, it can't be both, and the Desoto Hemi and the Chrysler Hemi (and the Dodge Hemi) do not have any interchangeable parts.
I enlarged it and still couldn't be sure what the emblem on the front fender said. Then I would have to remember what each division called the cars, and their motors. I knew that stuff too many years ago, its buried back in my mind someplace.
1954 was the last year for a (wet) intake for Chrysler, 1955 was first year for thermostat crossover between the heads. number in front of valley pan will start with S21 or S22 for a Desoto
One of life’s mysteries; you find an old car/pickup/truck, the hood may be up, for sure air cleaner is off, and more than half the time the rocker cover is off. Go figure…
That is correct, forgot that. I have a couple local boneyards I cruise now and again. I always close hoods. Come back, yep, hood up. Jackasses.
