Are you using the stock 15-5’s at the stock height?….. Then I would say yes.
I could have used 225’s but chose 215’s because I went to 6” wide Torque Thrusts. I currently use 2 jacks. A scissor under the axle and the bumper jack to get the body high enough and tire still rubs the brake drum and inner fender lip. Rear discs gives more room too. Others say totally different than me…. But I know what it took on mine.

OK, I don't have a 55, but I'm wondering why you use a jack under the axle. On 57s, many of us use 56 shocks that allow the axle to drop down another few inches, which obviously isn't going to happen if the car is jacked up by the axle. Is the frame too far in to use that scissors jack (or floor jack) on the frame? I know that in '57, they curved the main frame more outboard for crash protection. Maybe I just answered my own question.

The 215/75/15 is the closest, to the original 670X15 which was an 85 series tire, the 75 would indicate that it has a wider section width this may create a clearance problem in the rear, one option is to use a later mid 80s to early 90s Crown Victoria 15" wheel the offset will move it further into the wheel well for clearance also if you are planning a disc brake upgrade in the future these will clear the calipers.

The complete tire change could easily be done with the stock bumper jack. I use the scissor jack on the housing right next to the spring for peace-of-mind. The shock doesn’t need to come off. My shackles can reverse with the car is on a lift. And I need to be there when comes down. Today know one understands what I’m talking about so I need-to show them. I carry 2 tire iron in the trunk to correct them.
