Spent the weekend in Charlotte at the Goodguys show. Friday was a washout but Sat proved to be really nice.. sunny weather, temps in the low 60's and no rain... Ran into a few HAMBers like Kirk, Bloodyknuckles, Retroridesbyrich, OldKid, the-rodster and 46Mopar (sorry we did not get more time to talk). Ran into a number of non-HAMB friends as well.

It has become a tradition for many of the HAMB styled rides to park out between Turns 3 and 4, as far away from the so called 'prime parking' spot as possible and this year proved no different with a number of fine rides finding their way out there. We had a good time and there was a crowd around the rides all day...

Here is the link to all my shots

Here are a few shots of some of the rides from our corner of the track

Here are a few other cars that really caught my eye, the first was built by Rich, it was as cool as his other rides he has built, some great detail. I wanted to take the body of the frame to take more picture..

I hope others will post their shots as I know I missed a number of cool rides that I found late in the day when I did not have my camera..

  4. 'Gotta agree with you about Rich Oakley's stuff. Here are a couple of detail shots and a few other cars that I got. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Nice! Looks like yet another show to put on my calendar for "some day" :)

    This boy really gets around:

I took his picture at Indy... and my girlfriend took a picture of me taking its picture LOL

I loved that paint scheme so much I actually applied it to the '32 in the old Motor City Online game...

The owner wouldn't happen to be a HAMBer would he?

the buick looked really good, I noticed it from across the field as it was long and low and you dont see many big cars at these events. I would put it in my garage...

Some very nice cars, wish I was there. Just pulled a hudson 5 window coupe out of the side of an old wash out. Needless to say it has one ok side and a rusted out side. Lost my sunglasses too. Any way nice picks, there isn't any car shows like that in Kansas. Thanks for the pictures. Scott

We were there Sat. and today, I wish I'd have known where everybody was, I parked close to turn 4 (Affordable Customs F1). I'd liked to have met some of the brotherhood. Oh well , always next year.......

I seem to remember it being around $28K, but don't hold me to it.

PS It was great seeing ya Ken and some of the other HAMbers!

  16. Great coverage Boones, one of these days I'll make it down to that show.

Thanks Boones. I know GoodGuys gets a lot of thumbs-down here on the HAMB, but I really miss getting to go to this one every year. (I went every year they had it thru 2002, but living in NC at the time made it a lot easier than living in TX.)

I have yet to see it first-hand, but my dad did the chop on that 42 Chevy "3-window" coupe.

And Rich... that green thing looks real cool, man. I'd like to see more of that one! (Might hafta look you up when I'm in town for Christmas! Haha!)

Boones, thanks for the picures. I really planned to talk with you and the other hambers again this year but my stepson picked the 28th to get married so I was in PA for the weekend. I did get to see a few rides leaving the show going north on 77 when I was headed back home.

The little custom coupe was in the swap meet area saturday and still there sunday,it was built late 50's early 60's don't remember the name,it looked like almost all of the work was done in lead ,very cool,he was asking 29,000.00 for it.I think he said it had been stored since 68.

  29. Everybody wants a Gasser today. The 88 coupe would have been an Altered back in the day.
    Great pics , though.

Rich, great pic of the coupe.. I walked up to and looked it over but did not take any detail shots (not sure why..). the interior really got me hot.. it looked pure race.
