I found a 3 deuce intake, gave it a quick polish and installed.

I really, really like everything that's going on here, but especially the '39 headlights in the pickup.

(I thought I was the only one who did the ol' "file 'n drill press" trick; I see I'm in good company,)

I have had issues running tri power with those non louvered air cleaners. You notice a lack of air?
You going to hit Goodguys this year in Puyallup? I registered.

I'm sure they're very restrictive, something I had from another engine.
I just got this together, so will be searching out other alternatives for the air cleaners.
If I go to Puyallup, it'll be as a spectator...so what are you bringing?

Billy’s right. Those air cleaners are pretty restrictive. I swapped them for Cal Custom open element ones on the 283 in my roadster and noticed a distinct difference, even the idle speed increased. Look around, there are some alternatives that will keep with the look you’ve created.
You have really knocked it out of the park again with the convertible, sooo nice!

This is a 303 I put in my 39 pickup. I used a holly 4 barrel air cleaner with an aluminum adapter I made to fit the 4 barrel hole in the base. Then made two more smaller ones to fit the front and rear carbs. No restricted air flow here.

That's along the lines I've been considering.

Thanks for the lead, I see the only part he has left is the oil filter/housing.
In my application that isn't easily seen.

I found this air cleaner designed for a single 4 bbl...I added sheet metal to the bottom to cover the single large hole.
I then created three holes for the carbs, should get me better flow.

I sold one like that at PIR last year. Nice heavy aluminum. Looks good on there. Nice accent stripes.

Thanks, I took a chance and ordered it from Amazon, at around $65 I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised at the quality....so much so I ordered another one for my 40 p/u project with a nailhead.
