    Larry,
I thought you would know bullshit when you see it. That's just a bunch of Hot Wheel cars lined up in a display case. It ain't real . . . sheeeeesh.

I wonder how much those human looking robots cost!!!

I bet I could work in there it would be hard to make a big greasy mess but once I threw some tools on the ground and dumped some oil I would be able to deal with it.

Neat to look even if you can't have. I love old stock cars and like visiting the museum in Mooresville, but am not above visiting the shops. As my wife works for Alltel, got to know Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman. I still think it's cool although not as real as it used to be. But I may be a redneck.

I didn't know that David was still giving 'em hell down south. He's a homeboy from Youngstown, Oh and though I've lost track , I knew his younger brother Tim pretty well.

Speaking of smaller NA$CAR shops, I stopped by what is now the MB2 team's old digs on Iredale Rd. in Mooresville, NC when Ernie Irvan drove for them in the late '90s. After checking out Robert Yates's old place in Charlotte, Roush's, Penske's etc, Ernie's shop looked like a large Saturday Night raceteam's garage. The joint held might've 6 cars at most with little room between them, tools were all over the place and I felt MUCH at home..:) Geoff Bodine's old shop on the CMS grounds was much the same.

Cool pics, particularly of the Fish Carburetor M2 which I believe was Fireball Roberts's ride, and Cotton's coupe. How 'bout showing more, please..:)

It's a shame that some of you younger guys didn't get to enjoy NASCAR racing back in the day. The bullshit you see on TV now has no relationship to the true sport of stock car racin' as intended by Big Bill France..

Funny, I followed the M-2 Fish carburetor car through the Ocala National Forest last week-end. They were following a purple roadster I really wanted to get a pic of but I couldn't get past the M-2 car.

I worked for an Aluminum plant that did the prototype intake work on the S2B2 Chevy NASCAR engine. We were invited down to Charlotte for the engines introduction and got to tour the Hendrick shops and the track. What an eyeopener, I never imagined the kind of money it took to produce cars at the Championship level. My shop subcontracted fabrication work for one of the midwests most sucessful short track manufacturers (Howe Racing Enterprises) so I had seen firsthand some really nice race car operations. I'd have given a major body part to be the Janitor at Hendricks:). I'd encourage anyone who gets the chance to tour one of these facilities to do so. Even those of you who have nothing good to say about high end motorsports (jealousy is a bitch) will at least come away with an appreciation/realization of what it takes to put on the Sunday show you watch for free on the TV.

Hey, ... A HAMB garage with a space for each member. Imagine the gold mine we would have w/ all of the parts in one place. :)

    Nice pics.

Older ones, as they didnt race the 77 car this year, and Rustys still on the 2.

Would love to work for any of those teams, except Roush. Not a Roushkateer.

  18. I aint happy unless I'm all notted up , cramped for room and tripping over hoses, hammers, wrenches, extention cords and oh yeah the god damn welder.

I'd get some sort of agoraphobia, thinking somebody was watching me away in the far corner of the place. Strange hollow echoes and spooky shit like that.

I think a lot of us would be happy to have a garage as neat as yours. And the equipment. Got my eye on that air compressor :D

Fireball Roberts must be puking in his grave....no wonder the sport has gone from the good ole boys cheating by puttin gasoline in the roll bars, to big biz garages like that and their faggot.. complaining ..squeeky voiced pricks like Jeff Gordon.

God that felt good ...now send me all the tools.

p.s. Keeping Gatorade in mind.... Bucky Baker ...Once on a real hot day...had a beer passed into the car. Now that's a stock car pilot!!!

....and to think I just rented a detached garage from an old dude, It has one lightbulb in the middle and it smells like 50 year old turpentine spilled on the floor, kinda dark crusty and damp and i'm tickled silly about it.......it is however wired for 220 with a new breaker panel. wooo-hooo!!!!! Penske Shmenske....that place looks more like an ER than a "shop"
