Any of you guys had any success in removing the oil pan from a SBC while it was still living in a 40 Foad that still has stock front suspension? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that it cannot be done as the oil pan basically sits on the front u bolts.

Unless the firewall is dramatically modified, you can't lift the front of the engine enough for the pan to clear the crankshaft. I would remove the hood, radiator and grill and pull the engine and trans. together depending on how the trans. is supported. I am not recommending this ,however, I think that is why some people use IFS conversions. If you shop aftermarket frames, you'll notice that none are built with stock front suspension . JMHO

The pan is only leaking in a 2 inch space on drivers' side, does anyone make an injectable sealer? I tried lowering the pan and stuffing gasket maker in the space but that didn't work. Trying to save a lot work. Thanks

I was able to do it on my 40 with SBC. It had multiple leaks from the oil pan, timing cover and timing cover seal. I pulled the radiator, dampener, timing cover and dropped the pan bolts. I removed the carburetor and attached my lift plate on the intake manifold. I pulled the distributor to gain a bit of extra clearance at the firewall. I was able to drop the pan, but it had to be finagled out 'just so.' I ended up replacing the pan as the one I took off had distorted and cracked rails. It was still a lot of work, but I was able to get it done and get rid of the drip pan that I kept under the car.

There are many , many iterations of SBC oil pans , stock & aftermarket , depends on the pan you have I'd guess

I did not build these cars for you to put SBC's in them and expect to pull the oil pan off without removing the engine!
