*****KQQL HOT ROD at the PILEUP*****

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by A Boner, Oct 14, 2006.

  1. Sunocomike,

That is one killer ride your son built...
Here's some pictures I took before he finished the interior.

Brain did some very kool engineering with that "hinged flip hard top", the shift knob and the rest of the car too...
I'm not related, but I'm still proud he's one of us...

Oh Kilroy, I'm not much of one for arguing, but my eyes see it as the other way around. That being that the body looks a little too small. The only things I can see that look odd though are that the grille could have been pushed forward a hair, the steering arm could be a little longer and there is an illusion that the front tire/wheel looks bigger than the rear.

Those are all nit picky things though. I saw it and loved it, still do. Very well done "Tinman"

I'm not gonna bash the builder or the car. Looks good. I think it's neat to have the skills to fabricate a hot rod at any age. I wouldn't own it because it just doesn't appeal to me. too low for me, too small for me. That's it.

  4. Kilroy,

Give the "kid" a break...he built it the way he wanted.
Yes, its not perfect, but its kool to look at and I bet its a killer ride!

By the way thanks for all the great "tech" article on your '32 period perfect traditional build.

    Any update pictures???

    You know...

I wanted to discuss the Kar not the Kid....
    That doesn't seem possible...
Especially now that his dad signed on (intro?).
    So I deleted my posts...

I think the builder of the car has enormous skill.

My 31 roadster on 32 frame is going nowhere right now. I'll post pics if and when I make some progress...

I might have Flathead progress to report pretty soon....

No problem Kilroy, I didn't think you were bashing the "kid" I would agree also, he does tremendous sheetmetal work. There's nothing wrong with seeing something different from others. Your views are just fine.

Kilroy, I say rock-on with your opinion. I love a good debate. The styling of the car is not purely traditional and not necessarily what I'd do, but there are a lot amazing aspects of it. I don't think he intended it to be traditional.

Anyway, here are some more pics from the Indy Goodguys event.

  8. I dont' know how anybody could say anything bad about this car. It's incredible, IN-****ING-CREDIBLE! Plus the fact a guy his age built it and not some awful import garbage ****-mobile, his old man should be very proud!

I also find it hard to believe that anybody can say anything bad about that car. Its truly a work of art. The fact that its entirely fabbed makes it even more impressive.

I'm eager to see what future projects come from Mr. Tinman.

  12. Hey Mike, long time. Trent here that worked (past tense)at A&A in Rapid City. What the heck are you doing in Nebraska?

That car is amazing. Maybe not everyone's choice but the amount of work in that thing is amazing.

I was especially impressed with the way the driveshaft comes out the rear of the body and the way it was closed out.

A lot of thinking went into this ride and I bet a little blood too.

being a sheetmetal man and fabricator by trade, the amount of work and skill to make the sheetmetal on that body is a huge task...i give 10 thumbs up, its a really incredible job with a lot of cool touches...nice work for sure

I dont care who created that car.
But we need him here. The car is incredible. A perfect blend of tradition, custom and art. And what makes it so appealing is the time that was put into detail. I love it.
Tinman if you created this...I'd like to be the first to invite you into this fold.
