Now OK. I found old carpet. I think it was installed my ex 1932 Cabriolet when car arrived from CA. Carpet need to cut and install finally

I have two different escutheon. One is bigger OD, another is ogirinal 1932 ford "smooth". Im not sure which one I choose.

Too much things to do, I try to keep wheels turning (dayjob, coffee place, hot rods, homeworks...)
Saturday I give some hot spots fuel tank bottom, 3 times putty + sanded it nearly ready. Upper side is OK. This week need to paint it over (Primer + 500 sanding + 2k acryl).

Also I cut old carpet to right dimension. Need to sew it ready someday. Floor is still need alum. covers around shifter and emerg.brakehandle and same style cover around pedals + column.

Today worked little time with pinstripes. Not so nice, but homemade.

Hahaaa,.... maybe not. Need to remember that those are only owner´s handmade, not real stripers art.
I just want to see how outlook is change and if not good, easy to remove. I have only few colour, need to buy someday few colour more those enamel paints....

Here You can see my ex roadster which has Pekka "Wizzz" Mannermaa made. I liked that V8 "racing" logo.

My ex. 5w coupe. Timo Lindholm made all other straips that car.

    Thank You!
You told it. "willing to try". When I start every project, I have seen pictures of ready car on my mind. Building is give me very much "kicks", when car is ready mostly it looks like i was imagine.

Today Oskar asked if we go to garage. We where there about 4hours. Not talked very much. He was own side, working with moped electrics (CDI box, wirings). I repainted drv side door, put today first time it together.
Its very good to give Young man time to think things. Now advice too much... then he get good feelings if realize something....

I havent decided yet, if I open tachometer mounting holes and bolt on gauge on cowl.

    Hello
    Thank You!

I was last time in Piston Rumble 2005.... so im not there "every year"...
This is last summer I have coffee place in Seinäjoki Marketplace. Im very much "married" with that own company... Maybe we drive (Oskar and I) 1-2 days fast trips maybe two or three times.... June we maybe drive down to Tierp if I race there (TierpArena)... There is so much interesting meetings all over Finland, Sweden,.... No possible to be there.

I try to get this Hot Rod driving condition before end of June.

Today we spent few hours in garage. Mr Oskar own side and I own.
Tomorrow we take GS Buick out from trailer. We need to install exhaust, change racing slicks to Bf Goodrich because Monday-Tuesday I need to drive car to Inspection.

Tomorrow I spray primer next parts: Tank, front spearder bar, steering wheel, water pumps.

This week I started to make engine ready for fire up.
Waterpumps are now cut (I removed engine mounting stands), grinded, sandblasted and painted.

Today I removed intake & supercharger .... also sandblasted those and painted black.
Also grinded intake runners bigger. Still my big flathead in runners are bigger than intake runners. After grinded hour or two, intake was ready for paint.

Tomorrow need to install timing cover, crankpulley, intake.

    thanks.
Magneto (Harman Collins) has been rebuilt. "magnetoman" here in Finland cant reload magnetics (8)..
so I sent magneto wheel to Tom Cirello (CA). He reloaded it and sent me new points and condensers.

Today I put all together and tuned up magneto. I use 24-25dec advance. Fixed , because those Harman Collins magnetos are fixed advance. I use adjustable rotor. Im not sure what car rotor is this. I made inside steel sleeve and increased stop screws.

also installed painted intake, crank pulley....

    Thank You !

Yes, I think rotor is old Small Block ford.

Last weekend I visit North in "ProForest" -trade fair. Many companies who are buy bearings, power transmission from me/our company.

yesterday I installed supercharger. Today I piece old front end.
I need tie rod, which I cut pieces and used only those ends where threads are located.
I made new draglink using those threads + new 20mm OD rod.

Those are last parts I paint. Maybe next starter motor installation, wirings....

Thursday, Ascension day. I keep few hours coffee place open until it was start to rain.
I spend only few hours in garage. Used industrial belt extensioner arm and roll. Those I ordered from Italy when made bigger roller chain tensioner order. Roll and arm only 20-25euro.

Belts I use are B-53. Maybe change those to BX-53 model, because there is rather tight curve...

Yesterday I paint and installed Tie Rod and Drag link.

Found only two different colour spark plug wirings. Black cloth cover and old "fourty" ford style brown.
Last summer I made new ones to my roadster (oak), maybe that colour is best for this car and I make new ones to roadster.... Not want to order new sets.

Also found 4 old 6volt starter. Mixed parts, now have one working starter on table. That need to paint and install.

Note, my paintroom is few step more poor than begining of this year.... rod-coupe1362.jpg rod-coupe1363.jpg rod-coupe1364.jpg rod-coupe1365.jpg

While I rebuild P-51 Roadster. Last summer clutch was going worse and worse. driving has been challenging.
Today it was rainy weather, I decided to check clutch problem.

One "lever" was not good. I have rebuilt that lever 2years ago and I did it all wrong.
Clutch hasn´t release 100% all that time after rebuilding (2y).
I was lathe bushing to lever hole. I think original pushing has broken (small pieces), but I was wrong.
I didnt know that originally there must have cylinderical roll with mounting pin. Mounting pin has straight edge where roll is located. roll and pin are same time installed, so pin is not located middle of hole. I was made it like that..... I have few old 10.5" and 11" clutch. I piece one pressureplate and found that missing roll...

after 7-8hours working car is ready. Now clutch is very very good!

Saturday 7th of June. Yesterday I was in Helsinki (350km south from here). Nice FHRA Cruising in Helsinki Malmi Airfield area.

    Today continued 5w coupe project.
First I made spark plug wirings ready. I use old MSD "terminal press. Tomorrow need to byu from swedish BILTEMA shop wire boots to magneto.

This is first flathead in 10years I didnt used my S-curve rad hoses. This radiator lower outlets are installed so weird position. I found one old pair and used those. Old style hoseclamps and own upper hoses intalled too.

Seat belts are NOS stuff. I have two different posibility. I like those green ones.
    From year 1965

All V-belts are ordered. I want to use this engine BX-53 (53") belts instead of those B-53.
Also ordered BX 25 1/2" belt for generator.

Also installed extra gaugepanel. Need to connect mechanical oilpressue and water temp gauges.
I still have those SUN gauges from early 70´s....

    Sorry, too many pics. rod-coupe1370.jpg rod-coupe1371.jpg rod-coupe1372.jpg rod-coupe1373.jpg rod-coupe1374.jpg rod-coupe1375.jpg rod-coupe1376.jpg rod-coupe1377.jpg rod-coupe1378.jpg rod-coupe1379.jpg rod-coupe1380.jpg rod-coupe1381.jpg rod-coupe1382.jpg rod-coupe1383.jpg rod-coupe1384.jpg rod-coupe1385.jpg rod-coupe1386.jpg rod-coupe1387.jpg rod-coupe1388.jpg rod-coupe1389.jpg rod-coupe1390.jpg
