  1. I just came to the realization that "Dunsborough" is not somewhere in Washington, but rather Western Australia. I've been following this thread thinking that you're border hopping between BC and Washington. I'm now even more impressed at you having that large Tim Hortons sign in your shop!

  2. Dragging what I can from home down under to keep the home sickness low hahah

  3. Well I definitely cut into the nice quarters today. Scary! But I’m on a roll havnt decided yet wether I’ll bring it back 2 or 2.5” yet but for me this will make a huge difference in driving. IMG_6933.jpeg IMG_6935.jpeg IMG_6936.jpeg IMG_6937.jpeg IMG_6938.jpeg

That’s a clean cut! Looking forward to seeing where it lands!

  5. Knocked out a few more hours during naptime. both sides measured and cut out. Removed the upper trunk panel or car walk and started cleaning and Planishing. Next I removed about 2 3/8” or roughly 60 mm. Definitely lots of stuff to create, modified and manufactured in order to make it all work but it looking cool!
    so much room for activities’ IMG_6959.jpeg IMG_6957.jpeg IMG_6964.jpeg IMG_6960.jpeg IMG_6964.jpeg IMG_6967.jpeg IMG_6968.jpeg IMG_6978.jpeg

I'm confident to even the most familiar 28-29 observer barely a detectable modification.

  8. I see the tape running across the catwalk, implying a "cut here", and I see the newly "resized" catwalk fitting to the slid back cabin corners, I just don't see any sign of where the catwalk was ever welded back together. Nice work!!

I thought he may have re-bent the back edge although it appears to be a double bend, not sure.

  10. You’re right. That part isn’t finished but it’s close to what was done factory… almost, but should work well and means no welding.

  12. No welds! Not finished yet but it’s close. Some fine tuning hammering the edge over and the cat walk portion will be complete. Once that’s fitted with all the brackets and structures under shortened and modified it will be bolted in.

  13. Snuck in the shop after dinner for a hot minute- managed to cover a few things with this cockpit extension. Luckily the brace that runs vertically from the subrail to the quarter almost lined up perfect after removing the excess from the belt line.
I hammered over my flange for the catwalk. And sealed it,
Next step- weld the belt line and smooth that out, then mockup out upper quarter panel pieces to fine tune the fitment.

  14. Also got these great lenses from Chris at Polykings. I want to created a cast piece that these sit in and follow the contour of the head light. It’s an idea. Not sure yet.

  16. Well crazy thing I found out who purchased those head lights years ago- just working on getting them back.
Spent the afternoon noon getting the right side tacked in. Inner structure extended and welded in and the upper quarter fitting nicely. Figures crossed by the time this is done you won’t really notice it.

The video of moving the rear of the passenger compartment back is really good.

    That rad cap is perfect!
Seems a lot of the time a cap with that style is scaled to large. Good find!

  23. Creating some sand bent pipes for my friends 32 3 window in Canada. So using my frame and these Ardun heads as mock up. Also playing around with flange ideas to. Textured and brassed. Might be too much but will see. Killer! How do they seal off, to keep from having an exhaust leak at the pipe/new flange?

  26. The pipe will be welding on the inside flange, giving you a simple look

  30. Roadster update- No progress. Been working on getting this 32 Tudor chopped. The roadster chassis and motor has been aiding the mockup for the sandbent pipes that I’ll be dragging back home to Canada for Craig’s 32 3 window. The Scotsman’s talent for traditional sandbending is incredible to watch.
