There are only two shows/gatherings like this in NZ and the only one in the North Island. It's getting bigger each year and is worth the trip up to attend it. JW

Just filled my 32-5 window on the way home tonight at $1.56/litre for 91 octane and that's just over half of what you paid.
BTW Diesel was $1.67/litre.
Where is Carterton and where is the Hot Rod Blow-out held, trying to figure it out based on your round trip distance?

 

Carterton is 50 mls north east of Wellington and the Blowout is at the Meremere Drag Strip south of Auckland and Land Speed NZ is just out the back of Reparoa between Taupo and Rotorua and due to two road work detours the trip was closer to a thousand miles or more. Totally worth it. JW
