With no NASCAR to watch for 6 weeks I guess there will be more progress on all the HAMB Projects.

Yeah, the Nascar thing is all about money, they sold out to more pay to view markets.

This is not a NASCAR forum. But I agree, it's all about the money. I listened on the radio.

Sad….and stupid to loose a substantial portion of your audience at a time when your actually trying to get/replace the ones dying off.

I totally agree......I will continue to enjoy Trucks and Xfinity where there is real racing going on with up and coming drivers. I will catch up on outside/lawn work......spend more time with my grandson.....get some garage cleaning and organizing done ......put something on the grill and watch the sunset on Sunday......all good

They've always been "about the money" over fan support. Been watching since the '60's, but have grown more and more disgusted with NASCAR. This streaming thing may finally be the straw that breaks the camels' back for me.

I grew up listening to Nascar on the radio. Never used to miss a race. About 20 years ago, I got bored with it and quit watching. Haven't turned it back on since.

I watched it on Prime, which, I think is a free perc if you have Amazon Prime.

I don’t know that for sure though, as my wife handles all that kind of stuff. Hope she outlives me, cause I’ll be lost…

Wasn’t much of a race, so you didn’t miss much.

Non event for me. We have prime too. Only reason I've watched recently is to check on Larson (generational talent) and Cleetus's antics. I could give to flips about the rest.

Amen to that. Larson is the only talent there now.

Have not watched in 20 yrs, and tossed the TV in the trash 4.5 yrs ago. Don't miss either.
Cleetus has brought some new life to nascar, but he is only there for the utube vids.

I quit watching and following NASCAR when they allowed a certain foreign brand to race with a pushrod V8 and that car maker doesn't even sell a pushrod V8!

Really? No NASCAR races? News to me. I also found out this morning that I missed the Indy 500 yesterday; I guess it's not the "Memorial Day Cl***ic" anymore either (in more ways than one).

  19. NASCAR became a dumpster fire when they started that “Chase” ******** and the dumb*** “Car of Tomorrow” ****. Nope, haven’t paid attention in years.

I'm not very smart, but I'm not joining Amazon so I can watch Nascar.

Here’s the highlights from Coke 600 on YouTube I haven’t looked for the race video yet. You can usually find the race on YouTube live but anymore I only hit the highlights.

Hotrods n race cars were all mixed together in the 50s,n 60. Also some before my time that I started playing with cars in 40s after WW2. Roadsters cl*** and coupes/sedan cl***'s were at all the small oval tracks.
I still think real racing is local* :D:cool:,your near by 1/4*<my fav. size, or 1/3 mile oval, maybe even a 1/2,but 1/2 miles eat race cars n cost a lot more to keep up !. So most of those 1/2 go to weeds.
Go too your local small track, before you got zero to go too, like south Florida now { a void },that 30 years ago had 5+ oval tracks to go to on a weekend.

I even Raced at a 1/8 mile black top oval,Florida City Speedway. It is gone now, became a flea market,an the just nothing. TQ's an Mini, plus Go-carts,motorcly's,a few pedal bike races. Only thing left of it now ; is a web site> https://floridacityspeedway.homestead.com/
Go to0 local,as much as U can ,be it a oval or dragstrip< We need them.

  23. There is more to NASCAR than the Cup series. NASACR is a sanctioning body, with several divisions Cup, Xfinity, Trucks, Modifieds, Pinty series (NASCAR Canda) and including weekly short tracks.
My home track Fonda Speedway was a NASCAR sanctioned track from 1953-1972 running NASCAR Sportsman and then mixed fields of NASACAR Modifieds and Sportsman and joined NASCAR again in 2022. Other local tracks Albany-Saratoga, Utica-Rome, Victora (which opened in the early 1960s and closed in the mid 1960s.

NASCAR also had a Drag racing division which is where Shirley Muldowney got her start racing at Fonda

I think the point of this discussion is the race yesterday was only available to watch on Amazon Prime, which is part of having an Amazon membership.

I'm too old to understand how to buy stuff from the Long River in South America. They stole my ability to watch NASCAR. Somebody will run the numbers and compare the TV viewership last year to this year.

Larson is one of my favorite because he can drive everything. I wouldn’t give a millisecond to the other bozo you mentioned…just a maroon with money!

Racing of any sort is to be enjoyed IN PERSON. I suggest you go to your local track whether it be drag racing, sprint car, stock cars, mud trucks or whatever on a Friday or Saturday and engage all of your senses.

nascar stopped being interesting when they quit using production car bodies and supply the teams with identical sealed engines. Man, it used to be about who was smarter and better at making their cars run and handle, these days it is a race of follow the leader and whoever is better at drafting seems to win. Pretty sad. With that said, I moved this to the off topic forum, It sure as hell does not belong in the traditional hot rod forum

  30. I am fully aware of the point of the discussion; my point is that people use the acronym NASCAR the National ***ociation of Stock Car Auto Racing as a generic term for the Cup Series, even calling them NASCARs.

That is the equivalent of only calling Top Fuel N.H.R.A. and calling them N.H.R.A.s

There is more to NASCAR then Cup, my father held a NASCAR owners license, anyone from Cup (Grand Nation at that time) to the weekly tracks had to hold one of three NASCAR licenses and you couldn't get in the pits without one-

These were Car Owners, Compe***ors or Mechanics which were the same Grand Nation to the weekly level.
