    Thanks @Jive-Bomber Jay!

That's some excellent footage of what would become my “hometown track” [i.e., my parents (& 1 year old me) didn’t move to Fremont (from Minnesota) until December of 1962].

NOTE: That’s (the late) Tom Prufer’s Power King "Too" dragster at the 26 second mark:

I lived in Hayward in the early sixties. Used to ride my 10-speed bike down the coast to Fremont.
The first time I went they chained a jet dragster to a junk car. Then they fired up the jet, lit
the afterburner and proceeded to incinerate the entire junker to ash and molten metal.
After that little bit of lunacy the jet match raced a top fuel car. Quite a show as I recall.
Been hooked ever since. Made it back to Freemont in the 80s while working on tilt up buildings
for the emerging microchip industry. I still have a Baylands window decal from the track
just before it was closed for " progress"

someone will remember where they pulled 2 jet cars up and when they fired off they blew some big (plywood?) walls down back behind them--prob mid to late 70's?

Yep, I was there that day too and many many others. Raced there in the '80's and witnessed a lot of crazy $hit but man it sure was fun!
