Man I love the “where’s Waldo” of spying good stuff at a swap meet. Looks like you had a good time. I was zooming in on the black radiator hose clamps on the 32 trying to see what they were and noticed a piece of, I’m assuming, metal under each of the upper hoses. Any idea what’s going on there? It’s got me curious now.
Lotza good things at this meet. Lotza good deals and Lotza money changed hands. Best thing I got was a pair of new old stock 37 running boards. amazing what shows up at Petaluma. And the pie was excellent. Thanks V-8 club, hope you continue with the meet.
Also, I think the 32 3-Window was in public for the first time. It is a very sweet car with great touches every where, and a very aggressive sounding flathead. And 2 of the pictures that Joey shared were of my junk (that you could have bought if you were there).
Hello, What a cool place to see old hot rod parts. That is what swap meets should look like. Those old Strombergs look as if they could have been taken off of our first 283 motor when we finished putting them on top. The motor fit perfectly in our 40 Willys Coupe and now, as it rumbled down the street, it took us back to the beginning. With the 6 Strombergs, now, it was a running street legal Willys Coupe. It sounded really good for our first motor and our hot rod build. We ran it for a couple of months and thought we needed to go larger in the SBC field. So, we tore down the 283 and took it to Reath Automotive for a larger bore and new crank. The original 6 carb manifold for the 283 was sold and now a smaller Weiand manifold with the 6 Strombergs were in place on top of our 671 supercharger. Jnaki Those memories and the ones of us going to the old monthly antique auto parts swap meets were still swap meets with old parts of all kinds. It was as if someone cleaned out their garage and had a nice space with the items for sale. Those were the kinds of old swap meets that we liked. But, now, not so much…YRMV
