Just cutting out my interior panels here. An old friend is coming out of retirement to upholster them for me. Got a couple oxblood samples here. What colour carpet and headliner are guys running with this?
I painted my model A coupe black and then I had the interior done in oxblood. My upholsterer said it was just another shade of maroon but I think there is a little more red in a true oxblood. Anyways I had the carpets made from a closed loop carpet material like the old GM cars from the '60s in oxblood as well. The headliner was a pain but I had it done in the same oxblood material as the seats. It turned out great. Glad I didn't mix in another color. Wish I could show you a picture but I don't have that capability.
I have a roadster, so no headliner. My upholstery supplier was able to match colors with some bulk carpet he had in stock. It blends well with the oxblood upholstery.
This was done in 1951. The carpet I think I’ll change to a closer match, but otherwise I think everything works well together. The headliner should match the seats and door panels in my opinion ironandsteele.com
