I would sum up the car by saying a lot of stuff is not correct, period; rather than being so kind and saying it's not period correct

  16. OH Yea, Bird Automotive AKA Bird Engineering. I remember first seeing the basic kit for sale even in J.C. Whitney. I wound up with a used non-built kit. Went through the junk yard behind the house, found a 1956 Olds rear end, 37 Ford front end assembly, 53 PU steering box, 56 Olds radiator and a kind of running ford y-block and fordomatic transmission. Total pile of junk and a blast to drive around. In those days you could get a special construction registration in Kalifornia. Not now.

    Edd Byrnes, no fat tires.

We always ate at drive in burger joints and there was A&W. So we could eat off those metal trays that always fell off the glass or door frame. Cheese Burgers with extra grease wrapped in yellow tissue paper to designate a Cheese burger. Basket of greasy and salty fries. Onion rings that if you drop on the upholstery left grease rings. Chocolate Cherry Malt.

I’d like to know how it ran with the Hilborns. That’s not an easy setup to make street driveable and that’s way before Hilborn did EFI conversions. I see the mechanical pump down in front.
    Overall, a great car….

That is a strange picture. It looks really old but the car appears to be mocked up with C-clamps using a VW front end with rack and pinion steering, coilovers and Schoenfeld style headers. An interesting start.
