I drove a turbo T/A once, anemic! Couldn't get out of it's own way. I know the pace cars have to do a pretty hot lap, not sure how they prepped the actual car for the race.

I dig the sport fury convertible, very cool. The LeIacoccaBaron? Meh.

They must not have made a lot of Challenger pace cars, never seen one. I like it.

my mom had one of these as her first car. My grandpa scored it at a dealer auction as it was running rough, found out the case was just a rocker that had backed off. Tightened that down and it was purring again. The thing with those early Fox bodies was they had master cylinder problems where you could lose the brakes. Happened to my mom picking a friend up to head to school. Came to a 4 way intersection and the pedal went right to the floor and got T boned. Got hit hard enough to push my moms seat over the console and she was almost sitting in her friend lap. Fire department had to cut the roof off the car to get them out.

YIKES! My sister had the Capri version, a ‘79 bought new at my uncles Ford-Merc-Lincoln dealership. I like the bulged fender line on the Capris. She put a ton of miles on it, fortunately no brake issues!

I sold that pace truck to a BC citizen years ago. I miss that truck. It was incredibly low mileage and cared for. This is it hooked up to my 69 Camaro in my backyard. Damn Camaro had to be backed on top the trailer because of the front spoiler. Towed like*****! Boyd Junkyard dog wheels on the truck.

Pretty nice car, it's got all the ram air parts on it, pretty nice car, thought I had a photo with the hood and trunk shut but I guess I don't.

Always loved the Challenger Pace Car, there is a real one locally. The official number is 50 cars, but there is one list that shows 52 cars.

52 will keep the value up. the 78 Covette pace car was knocked off 6,502. They sold for around $13-14k new. You can still buy one for $20k in nice condition with the L82 and a 4 gear.
