Customs anybody know what this front clip could be from?

    anybody know what this front clip could be from? odd looking cross member and lower arms? its in a 47 caddy,, thanks

    might be from a 47 Caddy? with home made lower spring perches?

    no you can see where they welded on the front clip to the 47 frame
     
  4. Definitely GM. Buicks used cast beams until 49 or so. Could be Caddy, Pontiac, or Olds. I have a set of Pontiac ones, and I will look at them. Either way, Jim is right (as usual) as the spring perch is not OEM.

    Looks like someone added tube shock mounts Through the Spring, you can see the weld on tabs on the bottom.

  7. In looking at the Pontiac ones from that era that I have, not Pontiac. Caddy or Olds. Maybe the front crossmember got replaced with Caddy as it was damaged?

    Part #2 is the original shock absorber,the tube shock was added sometime,i have the same suspension under my 37.the parts are still available to rebuild them,its a real monkey motion setup,way too many moving parts in it.
